The Ambassador Building is the first release
of apartments in Embassy Gardens. This
fine building takes in spectacular views of
Westminster to the east, Chelsea and Pimlico
to the north and the iconic Battersea Power
Station and Park to the west. Located between
the River Thames and the Nine Elms Linear

Once completed, Nine Elms promises to
challenge the status quo that has been enjoyed for
so long by many other Central London districts
such as Kensington, Chelsea and Bayswater.
In its planning and its architecture, the project
benefits from the visionary thinking of one of
the foremost practitioners in the industry.
Sir Terry Farrell was given the task of
masterplanning the regeneration of Nine Elms
in 2009. In fact, the word ‘regeneration’ doesn’t
adequately describe the masterplan. It’s a
comprehensive transformation: what makes
the Nine Elms opportunity so compelling and
exciting is that it’s virtually a blank canvas, a rare
find in the centre of a world-leading city.

Located in Zone 1, the Ambassador Building
takes in spectacular, traditional views of London,
such as the River Thames, Westminster and the
Houses of Parliament, as well as newly formed
icons such as the London Eye and the Shard.

Although masonry, primarily brick, is the
principle building material, it has been given
a new treatment that suggests traditional builtto-last qualities of permanence and solidity,
together with a lightness of touch that might be
expected in an exciting new, twenty first century
urban development.
The most striking feature of the proposed
apartment buildings in Embassy Gardens is
their variety of style, size and character: it’s even
suggested in their names – the Ambassador,
Capital and Chancery Buildings.
The designs are strongly influenced by
the commercial buildings of the 1930s in
Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, some
of which have been converted into signature
residential accommodation. The architecture
of the Ambassador Building has a highly
distinctive look, unlike anywhere else in London.

Farrells is a firm of internationally recognised architects with
offices in London, Edinburgh and Hong Kong. Renowned for
their expertise in architecture, urban design, regeneration and
planning, Farrells is a design-based practice that applies the highest
standards of architectural imagination and design excellence to
all aspects of a scheme from initial design to project completion.
Farrells has a worldwide portfolio of high-profile building schemes
and masterplans in cities as diverse as London, Hong Kong,

Woods Bagot is a global design studio specialising in the design and
planning of facilities across three key sectors: Education, Science
and Health. Lifestyle and Workplace. Their focus is to understand
the functional, operational and cultural needs of a project, drawing
on their research and experience to create solutions which work.
Their multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled individuals provide
services in architecture, consulting, interior design and urban design

Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios was established in 1978 and has
offices in Bath and London.
With a reputation for sustainable design and innovation, and a
strong track record in community buildings, the practice is at the
forefront of innovative housing design, from inner city social housing
to new suburban neighbourhoods and private developments.
They believe the best buildings emerge from a strong working
relationship with committed clients and creative consultants who
understand the transformational power of architecture. Designing
buildings is a way of thinking – a way of life – leading to the creation
of form and space that is memorable and inspirational.
Camlins:
Landscape Design
Founded in 1980, Camlins possess a portfolio of award winning
Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Masterplanning
projects throughout the UK and Ireland. The manner in which
people inhabit the land and the marks upon it which result are the
raw materials of landscape architecture. Camlins interpret this
behaviour and use it to achieve fluency in the language of landscape.
Having deciphered the code or sequence of signals bequeathed by
nature and the land’s former inhabitants, contemporary marks may
then be made with conviction. Camlins were appointed by CABE
in 2003 to act as nominated advisors to local authorities in whose
stewardship our landscape and public realm reside.
