How to Store a Theatrical Scrim
(Westcoasting)
By properly folding a large theatrical scrim you prevent damage, make for
easy storage, and most importantly, make it simple and easy for the next
person to unfold and hang.
Before folding any soft goods you should always ensure the stage
floor is clean to keep the drop in the best possible condition.
1.) Remove the bottom pipe from the scrim.
2.) Collect 5-8 bodies to catch the drop as you bring it in.
3.) Have the bodies hold their arms under the drop as you bring it in,
allowing it to gather in their arms.
4.) Once the batten is at working trim, undo every 3-4th tie from the pipe
and use it to tie up the scrim in your arms.
5.) Once the scrim is neatly tied to its self, start undoing one end from
the batten, allowing the scrim to fold into the bag provided, until the
entire scrim is secured in the bag.
Note:
It is important that you never drag a scrim across the floor for any
reason as they are prone to tearing.
Thank you for helping us keep these drops in wonderful condition for all
future users!
