Theatre Department Lisa Bodollo, Academic & Artistic Theatre Director [email protected] Key Elements of Mercy Theatre Mission & Philosophy The Mercy Theatre Department is continuing in its growth in the areas of performance, set design, all technical design areas, dance and performance. We start all drama students with the basic concepts of performance and technical design. Each student has many opportunities to put into action what they have learned in the Freshman One Acts, Sophomore Show (both shows allow all students to participate without an audition) and any of the main stage performances What Makes Mercy Theatre Unique? • We are the only school to provide two full shows (with- out an audition) to all drama students. • Each student will participate in each show fully whether it is performance or technical aspects. • Students are mentored by the juniors and seniors in all the technical design ares - as well as adult mentoring from DAAP, CCM, the College of Mount St. Joseph and Northern Kentucky University. • Each drama session is with only 10-12 students - giving each drama student a large amount of individual instruction. • We compete at many local competitions and throughout Ohio and Kentucky. 3036 Werk Road Cincinnati, OH 45211 • • • • • • • • • • Activity based learning Self-esteem/team building Learning to communicate successfully Safe environment to explore and create All students have a high rate of success ( no one sits the bench) Skills that will travel with them a life time (performance and technical skills) Conflict/resolution skills Bringing dramatic text to life Using the mind, body and voice to create life on stage Cincinnati High School Shakespeare Competition National Qualifier in 2011 1st place in 1998, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 2nd place 2001 and 2003 3rd place 2012 4th place 2007 Clubs and Activities Mercy Thespians - (International Thespian Honorary) Mercy Theatre is a member of EdTA (Education Theatre Association) National Overture Awards Competition National Shakespeare Competition 513.661.2740 www.motherofmercy.org Who is Mercy’s Theatre Director and Instructor?
