Work History
Earlham College Pedagogical Tools Group Member (August 2013-present)
Rewrote tutorials for all software used by our department, including
emacs; remote editing via ftp; remote connection software for Mac-based,
Windows, and linux-based operating systems; in-house scripts; and VTWM.
Collaborated with a team to keep all campus public computers and three public
printers usable by computer science students.
Earlham College Theatre Arts Web Strategy Development Consultant (August
2013-present)
Assisted Theatre Arts faculty in developing and implementing a web
strategy to include active use of the Umbraco access provided by the school and
creation of social media accounts. Taught Faculty to use a WYSIWYG editor to
update the information on their department’s website. Established a Twitter
account and strategy. Trained Official Twitter Team on social media best
practices. Seeded a YouTube account from department video archives,
Developed a strategy for continuing to update with current content.
Translator to Professor Zhengming Huang (February-June 2013)
Provided real-time Chinese-to-English translations of lectures for one
class taught and responses for several interviews given by Nanjing University
Institute for International Studies Professor of Calligraphy Zhengming Huang,
as well as translating students’ questions and some follow-up information in
interviews from English to Chinese for the Professor.
Nanxiucun Community Center Parrot Club Instructor (2012-2013)
Created lesson plans for and taught one English as a Second Language
class a week to a group of up to twenty five Chinese children ages 4-10 as a
supplement to in-class instruction.
Freelance English Tutor (2012-2013 Academic Year)
Created lesson plans and taught English As A Foreign Language classes
both as standalone lessons and as supplements to in-school instruction for an
array of students from pre-school to adult, all of whom were native Chinese
speakers. Classes were individual or small group.
Earlham College Theatre Department Workstudy Student (2011-2012 Academic
Year)
Created marketing materials for plays including advertisements using
information from a concurrent research position as Dramaturg. Created the
program. Took photographs including the actors’ and designers’ headshots for
inclusion in program.

Freelance Actor (2008-present)
Past theatrical roles include Lin Daiyu (of Dream of Red Mansions) in an
operatic medley presented by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation as part of the
closing ceremony of the Ring Taihu Lake International Cycling Race Award
Ceremony, Miss T. Muse and Chorus Girl #2 in Earlham College Theatre
Department’s production of The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder; Felicity in
Earlham College Theatre Department’s production of The Real Inspector
Hound; and Synesius in Still Breathing Productions’s debut production of This All
Really Happened: "Doing The Lord's Work." Past roles in short films include
supporting roles in “Quiet Money” for Pittsburgh’s 48 Hour Film Project and the
Nanjing Youth Olympics’ promotional videos, and the title role in “Imogene” by
hinapa:studios. Voice Acting experience includes Kathy in Episode 5 of
Radiosonic Productions’s Doctor Who Fan Podcast.
Shady Side Academy Science Department Tutor (2007-2010)
I provided tutoring help for students struggling with introductory-level
physics and chemistry classes through one-on-one and small group assistance
and study sessions.
Shady Side Academy Computer Science Department Tutor (2007-2010)
I provided tutoring help for students struggling with object-oriented
programming theory, Java, HTML, RobotC, and JavaScript.
Shady Side Academy Writing Center Scribe (2008-2010)
As nominated, took a training course preparing me to work as a writing
tutor and copyeditor, then assisted students in improving their writing skills
while helping with essay editing or tutoring at the discretion of the student

Studied traditional Slovak language, culture, dance, and music, and
performed as part of a touring ensemble.

Organized political action and provided trainings for aspiring activists
from Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas, including acting as the Co-Chair of

Research Positions
Independent Researcher, Nanjing University (Fall 2012-Spring 2013)
Created a Chinese-English dictionary of technical theatre terms and
produced an accompanying paper describing the formation of different types
of technical theatre terms in the two respective languages as well as detailing
the need for such a dictionary in the current climate of intercultural exchange
promotion.
Dramaturg, Earlham College, The Skin of Our Teeth (Spring Semester, 2012)
A workstudy position involving providing necessary background
information for the cast, crew, directors, and designers; pulling out references
they may not otherwise have noticed; giving background on references or the
play in general; answering questions in table work and rehearsals. Published
findings in GoogleDocument format for members of the cast and production
team, Wrote series of articles for our school newspaper to increase community
involvement in the production process, Created program notes for audiences,
and presented findings at Earlham College Annual Research Conference on April
17, 2012.
Computer Science Theory Group, Earlham College (Fall 2010-present)
I worked with a group of students from mixed backgrounds (primarily
computer science, but also math) to work on individual research in the field of
Computational Linguistics. My primary purpose within the group was to write
about the group’s work, but I also compiled a dictionary of specific constraints
found in languages upon DFA analysis and a dictionary of the abstract
constraints which defined the types of constraints which we found.
