You’re the Worst

You're the Worst is a modern look at love and happiness told through the eyes of two people who
haven't been very successful with either. It's the story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak,
romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the
worst people make the best partners. An original comedy from writer and executive producer
Stephen Falk, You’re the Worst puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre. Narcissistic,
brash, and stubborn Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere) has inadvertently found himself paired
up with cynical, people-pleasing, and self-destructive Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash). After a
whirlwind courtship, and a very rough post-cohabitation period of dealing with Gretchen’s
clinical depression, Jimmy and Gretchen try to keep the good times rolling while confronting the
terrifying fact that relationships grow and deepen even if the two individuals don’t. For Jimmy
and Gretchen the f-word is “family.”
Rounding out the cast is Desmin Borges, who plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless war
veteran roommate who is struggling to manage his PTSD while forging a post-combat life; and
Kether Donohue as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who’s
exploring her identity after her loveless marriage was resurrected by a surprise pregnancy.
You’re the Worst is produced by FX Productions.
STEPHEN FALK
Stephen Falk is the Creator/Executive Producer/Showrunner of the FXX series You’re The
Worst, which appeared on numerous Top 10 lists after each of its first two seasons; both seasons
received nominations for Best Comedy at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
As part of an overall deal with FX, Falk is currently developing four comedies for the network.
He served as Co-Executive Producer of Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black, and Showtime’s
Weeds. In 2012 he served as the Creator/Executive Producer/Showrunner of Next Caller, a halfhour single-cam comedy starring Dane Cook, Jeffrey Tambor, and Collette Wolfe which was
picked up for NBC's 2012-2013 midseason schedule... and subsequently cancelled before airing.
He is currently adapting the Scott Hutchins novel A Working Theory Of Love as a feature film.
Falk graduated from NYU with a BFA in Acting and started out writing plays -- later
transitioning to feature films for such studios as Fox, Dimension, Universal, and then writing
television pilots for Showtime, ABC, NBC, Fox, USA, and SyFy.
He received a 2012 Writers Guild Awards nomination for Episodic Comedy for writing an
episode of Weeds called, "Object Impermanence” and a second in 2014 for his work on Orange
Is The New Black.
Falk used to recap reality shows for the formerly-great Television Without Pity, is co-producer
and sometimes host of a popular monthly storytelling series at M Bar in Hollywood called
“Public School,” and does a weekly webshow about movies with his group “The Film Pigs.”

“Jimmy Shive-Overly”
Born in Cambridge, UK and trained at Guildford School of Acting, Chris Geere began his career
on stage opposite Dame Judi Dench in Royal Shakespeare Company’s All’s Well That Ends Well
followed by a small role in HBO’s Band of Brothers. Additional television credits include BBC’s
The Bill, Casualty, Eastenders, Death in Paradise and Outnumbered. His first series regular role
was in the war drama Bombshell for ITV. Other series include the award-winning BBC series
Waterloo Road, Pete vs Life opposite Rafe Spall, The Spa and Ash Atalla’s Trollied
Geere gained international recognition when he took over the lead role of “King Edvard” in the
Prince & Me film series. Additional feature credits include MGM’s werewolf thriller Blood and
Chocolate opposite Olivier Martinez, Warner Bros’ Cleanskin opposite Sean Bean, M. Night
Shyamalan’s After Earth opposite Will Smith, and the Pierce Brosnan Lionsgate thriller Urge.
He can next be seen top lining the horror-comedy Deadtectives for Dark Factory Entertainment.

AYA CASH
“Gretchen Cutler”
Aya Cash has received rave reviews for her performance in the second season of You’re the
Worst, which earned her a 2016 Critics’ Choice Award nomination. Recently, she wrapped
production on Joe Swanberg’s Netflix anthology series Easy, about love, sex, technology and
culture. Cash stars opposite Dave Franco in the series which also features Orlando Bloom,
Malin Akerman, Marc Maron and Jake Johnson, among others. Additional television credits
include a leading role in the Fox comedy series Traffic Light, as well recurring roles on The
Newsroom, We Are Men, and guest starring roles on Modern Family, Sirens, The Good Wife,
Mercy, A Gifted Man, Law and Order (the whole triptych) and Brotherhood.
On the theatrical side, Cash recently wrapped production on two features: Brand New Old Love,
an independent film in which she stars and executive produces; and Maderas Village, directed by
Paul Briganti. Her additional film credits include Martin Scorsese’s Oscar®-nominated film The
Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk with Me,
The Oranges, and Loitering with Intent among others.
Cash’s theatre credits include starring roles in Off-Broadway plays at playhouses such as
Playwrights Horizons, The Atlantic, MCC, Manhattan Theatre Club and the Rattlestick, to name
a few. She has starred in New York or World premieres of plays by Ethan Coen, Bruce Norris,
Zoe Kazan, Matthew Lopez, Lucy Thurber, Liz Flahive and Nicky Silver.
Cash splits her time between New York and Los Angeles.
KETHER DONOHUE
“Lindsay Jillian”
A proud native New Yorker and coined “the unstoppable Kether Donohue” by Variety, Donohue
has received critical acclaim for her fearless performances in film, television and theatre. She
has worked with a remarkable list of Oscar®, Emmy®, and Tony Award-winning and nominated
directors including Barry Levinson, Sam Mendes, Jason Moore, James Burrows, Stan Lathan,
and Paul Feig.
Donohue is consistently praised for her performance on You’re the Worst and was recently
nominated for a 2016 Critics’ Choice Award in the Best Supporting Actress category. Donohue
also just wrapped production on Fox’s live musical presentation of Grease Live, in which she
starred as “Jan,” one of The Pink Ladies, opposite Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens.
She previously starred in Barry Levinson’s sci-fi thriller, The Bay, which premiered at Toronto
Film Festival to rave reviews. She’s also played sharp-tongued “Alice” in Pitch Perfect and
“Lizzy” in the emotional crime drama, Boy Wonder. Additionally, Donohue was a series regular
on the sitcom pilots Open Books and Saving Jason, and has made guest star appearances on The
Carrie Diaries, Royal Pains, The Mindy Project, Ringer, Perfect Couples, I Just Want My Pants
Back and Hope & Faith.
A graduate of Fordham University with a concentration in Film, Donohue has also co-produced
several films that she’s also starred in including Over the GW. After making its world premiere
at Slamdance Film Festival, Over the GW had a limited theatrical release and was used to
promote social change when it was cited in a United States Congressional Hearing on Child
Abuse and Deceptive Marketing by Residential Programs for Teens. She went on to co-produce
and star in the indie sci-fi thriller, Altered States of Plaine; write, direct and star in the short
film, The Babydaddy, an autobiographical narrative about the relationship between a sixteenyear-old girl and her ill Vietnam Veteran father; and co-produce and star in the short Aaron
Bacon.
Honing her craft in the New York theatre, Donohue made her Off-Broadway debut at Ensemble
Studio Theatre with a lead role in Taylor Mac’s, Okay, followed by starring in Kate
McGovern’s Blue Before Morning.
Donohue is also an accomplished and passionate voice-actress known for her remarkable range
of unique character voices. Her voice has been heard on several animations as well as television
and radio commercials/promos.
Donohue currently resides in Los Angeles.
DESMIN BORGES
“Edgar Quintero”
Desmin Borges first came to prominence with his award-winning, breakout performance of
"Mace" in the Pulitzer Prize nominated The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Diety at the Victory
Gardens Theater in Chicago. This quickly led to critically-acclaimed runs of the show at the
Second Stage in New York and the Geffen in Los Angeles.
Borges parlayed his stage success into the film and television world, where he appeared opposite
Jim Carrey in Mr. Popper’s Penguins and Ben Stiller in Tower Heist. Other films include
Compliance (Sundance), Almost Christmas (Tribeca) and The Mend (SXSW). Television roles
include The Mysteries of Laura, Castle, The Good Wife, Law & Order: SVU, Preacher and a
series regular role on Next Caller.
Upcoming, Borges will be seen in the new HBO series Divorce with Sarah Jessica Parker and the
film Carrie Pilby with Bel Powley.
