Story Salad Productions presents
COME BACK, AMELIA BEDELIA
& OTHER STORIES
Story Salad Productions= new musical revue will be performed at _______________

_____________________________________.
Story Salad has selected four favorite children=s books and an original sing-along-song to
create a musical revue, combining the magic of theatre and the joy of literature. In the title story,
Come Back, Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish, the literal-minded maid gets fired from job after job
because she always does exactly as she’s told. Jumbo: The Most Famous Elephant in the World
(based on the book by Bonnie Worth) tells the true story of P.T. Barnum’s circus attraction, from its
abduction in Africa to the zoos of London and Paris, to its starring role in the Greatest Show on Earth.
Another non-fiction hero comes to life in Johnny Appleseed: My Story (as told by David Harris),
which follows John Chapman as he travels west to plant seeds and to make America a better place.
Stacks of Trouble by Martha F. Brenner takes a light-hearted look at a boy who avoids washing dirty
dishes by hiding them in the basement – a great way to introduce young people to mathematical
concepts!
STORY SALAD PRODUCTIONS, INC. continues the Story Salad series begun by
Maximillion Productions. Using Ron Kaehler=s new stage adaptations and Albert Evans= updated
music, this professional acting ensemble is directed by G. Wayne Hoffman and produced by David
M. Conte. It is the hope of this creative team to inspire and entertain children everywhere by
combining the magic of theatre and the joy of literature.

ALBERT EVANS (Author) wrote the music for the off-Broadway hit Pageant which, in addition to its
many U.S. productions, has been performed in Japan, Australia and London's West End. His lyrics are featured
in New York City Opera's performing version of The Merry Widow, televised on "Live from Lincoln Center"
(PBS). He co-authored the score for the off-Broadway cult hit Nite Club Confidential. Mr. Evans is Composer-inResidence at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse, where he has written lyrics for Mikado Inc., and music for
Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities, Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. He recently adapted the songs of
George M. Cohan for the stage musical biography Yankee Doodle Boy. His other scores include The Texas
Chainsaw Musical, Five on the Isle and, with Ron Kaehler, the Dickens-goes-Nashville fantasy A Country
Christmas Carol.
RON KAEHLER (Author) has had his songs and specialty material sung in concert, cabaret, and
recording studio by such noted Broadway performers as Bryan Batt, David Garrison, Alix Korey, Eddie Korbich,
Marin Mazzie, and Jessica Molasky, among many others. Works for the theatre include A Country Christmas
Carol (with Albert Evans), the operatic farce Under the Overture, and the play Stage Fright. Television credits
include the award-winning children's series Van-Pires. Other recent projects: a children's musical, Animal Act!,
(with Anne Bryant and Ellen Bernfeld), and a book, David Kaplan's Five Approaches to Acting.
G. WAYNE HOFFMAN (Artistic Director) has worked for 25 years in the entertainment industry prior to
being Artistic Director of Story Salad Productions. As an actor, he toured nationally and internationally in
ANNIE, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and GUYS AND DOLLS. He has performed in regional theatre, Off
Broadway, commercials, and as a singer on a cruise ship. In addition to performing, Mr. Hoffman has worked
as an accompanist and vocal coach, and most recently, a stage manager. It was his stint as stage manager for
Maximillion Productions that introduced him to his new mentors, Max & Peggy Traktman, without whom there
would be no Story Salad Productions. It is his privilege to carry on their tradition of quality theatre for young
audiences and he looks forward to the challenge of educating and entertaining new generations to come.
DAVID M. CONTE (Producer) has been managing theatrical productions for more than twenty-five
years. His experience includes work both on Broadway and Off Broadway, in regional theatres, and on
national tours, including KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, ANNIE, and A CHORUS LINE. He served as the
general manager of The Joffrey Ballet in New York City and was the general manager for U.S. tours of The
Bolshoi Ballet, Royal Ballet, and Bolshoi Opera. Mr. Conte is currently the manager of the Longacre Theatre on
Broadway.
