Get healthy and active with The Medway
Big Ride, our new mass participation event
featuring a host of cycling initiatives, to
launch the Medway Festival of Sport in May.
As usual The Brook and Central Theatres have
a great line-up of music, comedy, dance,
drama and children’s entertainment.
In addition, there are plenty of outdoor
activities at our country parks that you and
the family can take part, including fishing,
bird watching and bush craft. You may also
like to take a trip to our libraries for some
Easter themed fun or a special cartoon and
comic week. And lets not forget our regular
events like English, Sweeps, Dickens and Fuse.
These are just a few highlights of what’s
coming up over the next couple of months.
Take a look through this guide and find out
what else is happening across Medway
this spring.

Time Lapsed
Painting vintage
photographs workshop
Marissa Mardon
Marissa takes her inspiration for Time Lapsed
from a creative fusion between painted
forms and traditional and historic contexts.
Using vintage photography as her starting
point, Mardon attempts to show the blurred
line between image construction and the
painting process of photo realism for which
she is best known. Time Lapsed presents a
body of work that is experimental in
approach and a move away from Mardon's
usual style. Her focus is on contrast and
form, light and shade. Her canvases are bare
in places, left partially raw revealing the
evidence of visible pencil marks and brush
strokes. A time lapse film captures and
reveals the process of her work, demonstrating
exactly how each brushstroke evolves onto
the canvas from beginning to end.
Thu, 27 Mar, 6.30 - 8.30pm
