ITINERARY
DAY 1: Springfield - Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania
This morning, depart from Springfield by motorcoach for
Bird-In-Hand, PA and check into the Amish View Inn
& Suites for a two-night stay. The Amish View provides
the intimate atmosphere of a bed & breakfast (only fifty
rooms) with the privacy and amenities of an upscale hotel.
Draw back the curtains of your spacious room and take it
all in...lush farmland, cows grazing in a nearby pasture,
and a one-room schoolhouse on the horizon. After some
down-time, dinner is served at Plain & Fancy Farm. Adam
Richman of the Travel Channel’s Man v. Food spent a day
at Plain & Fancy before sitting down to enjoy an Amish
Farm-to-Table Feast! After dinner, engage your senses
through music, storytelling and the amazing chalk artistry
of a former Old Order Mennonite woman who offers
insights into Amish culture with a story that comes to life
with her presentation of…Chalk Talk. D
DAY 2: Joseph - Kitchen Kettle Village - American Music Theatre - Miller’s Smorgasbord
Enjoy a hot “country breakfast” at the Inn before departing
for the Intercourse Pretzel Company - home of the handtwisted pretzel (only six companies still hand-twist!). Then
travel to The Sight and Sound Theatre for the morning
performance of “Joseph.” Prepare to be dazzled by the
amazing lighting and special effects such as a specialized
water screen that transforms the entire theatre into the Nile
River, and the LED lights for Joseph’s dream sequences
that create a star field enveloping the entire theatre. See
Joseph and his colorful coat taking flight over your head
and the magnificent Egyptian palace that spans 300’ and
wraps around three sides of the audience! And don’t forget
the animals, Joseph is packed with live camels, horses,
dogs, goats, sheep, donkeys, a special Sphinx cat named
King Tut and yes, even trained rats! Time for lunch, and
the Kettle Café at Kitchen Kettle Village has the perfect
recipe. Featuring over 40 local shops filled with homemade
baked goods and Amish gifts, Kitchen Kettle Village is
sure to be a highlight. Next, an afternoon performance
of American Music Theatre’s original show INSPIRE.
Celebrating the power of music, the show features beautiful
songs in the style of Josh Groban, Celine Dion, Sarah
Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. Witness the magic of
stunning costumes, elegant sets and breathtaking scenery
as A.M.T. presents the songs and voices with the power to
uplift, enchant and INSPIRE. End your fun-filled day with
a world-famous smorgasbord dinner at Miller’s where all
meals are cooked from scratch. B, L, D
DAY 3: Antique Automobile Club of America Museum - Springfield
Another buffet breakfast and then it’s on the road again.
We will stop in Hershey, PA and visit the Antique
Automobile Club of America Museum where you will
see magnificently restored automobiles like the ones your
parents and grandparents may have driven. Your visit also
includes a walk through the history of bus transportation
from the days of crank starts and wicker seats to full sized
motor coaches. This is the largest display of historic buses
under one roof, including the bus from the movie “Forrest
Gump” and a special exhibit of rare Tucker automobiles!
Afterward, hop back on your luxuriously modern
motorcoach for the journey home with warm memories of
Lancaster County. B
