SUNDAYS JUST GOT SEXIER WITH THE LAUNCH OF ALT AT THE BERESFORD HOTEL NEW SUNDAY NIGHT PARTY EXPERIENCE LAUNCHES 28 SEPTEMBER MEDIA RELEASE: 8 SEPTEMBER 2014 The Beresford Hotel is set to launch ALT, a sensational new entertainment extravaganza melding music, dance and theatrics, on Sunday 28 September. Created by James Browne, the talented designer behind award-winning Pacha Sydney, ALT will take place every Sunday night at the iconic Surry Hills venue. Tickets are $20, doors open from 7.00pm. ALT is a full-scale production of theatre, transporting the audience into an alternate sensory world. Creative Director, James Browne, has created four dramatic nights that will rotate weekly. Each show is a non-stop visual overload, bursting with aerialist displays, acrobatics, professional dancers, burlesque and live singers. The four shows are: - ALTAR – A medieval cathedral where innocence is lost in the battle between good and evil; HALT! – A Russian military factory where forbidden love triumphs over adversity; WALTZ – A mythical forest where a midnight picnic turns into an adventure of sexual exploration; ALTERATION – A twisted laboratory where the obsession with physical perfection goes too far. Browne has designed over 50 spectacular costumes for ALT, with fabrics and materials sourced from the best suppliers all over the world. Teams of highly skilled dressmakers have worked around the clock to produce everything from sculptural period-inspired creations to fetish costumes covered in lights. Custom-built stages have also been designed, featuring elaborate handmade sets and installations. The impressive ALT cast is made up of 25 performers including Brendan Irving (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Zebastian Hunter (Cirque du Soleil) and burlesque queens, Frankie Faux and Kelly Ann Doll. Choreographed by the brilliant Mashum Liberta, each show features three stand-out performances, with ambient entertainment and installations staged all night long. The theatrics are matched by the powerful beats of ALT’s resident and headline DJs. Music Director, Alex Taylor, has put together a stellar programme of DJ acts, pumping out main room house, old and new dance diva tracks and live vocals. James Browne, Creative Director, said: “ALT really is unlike anything else on the Sunday party scene. We’ve supercharged Sundays, creating over-the-top theatrical experiences with outstanding performers, mind-blowing costumes and amped up tunes to match. We are transporting you into an entirely new world, each and every Sunday. We can’t wait to party ALTogether”.
