Tango Feeling
Estampas Porteñas
Carolina Soler
Estampas Porteñas was founded in Buenos Aires in 1996 by the distinguished Argentinean ballerina and
choreographer, Carolina Soler.
Beginning her career in classical ballet, Carolina Soler was wellknown and widely celebrated for her dazzling
portrayals of traditional classical ballet roles.
In Estampas Porteñas she returns to the dance form that is the heart and soul of Argentina.
In its first year, Estampas Porteñas toured China performing over 60 successful shows. On its return to
Argentina, the company performed at the Cultural Centre General San Martin, enjoying popular and critical
acclaim being described as “… dazzling the audience with talent, seduction and beauty ”. In the same year the
company created and performed Musica en Buenos Aires commissioned by the Government as a gift to the city.
Carolina Soler’s "Estampas Porteñas" performed in different events, tango house and theatres in Buenos Aires
and toured extensively in Asia, Europe, South Africa, Latin America, and a 16 city tour in Australia with the
show Tango Fire in May of 2005. The group made its debut in the United States on a 33 city cross-country tour
in 2006.
Following their performances, The Institute of Hispanic Cultural of Houston, Texas gave Carolina a
commemorative plate for her trajectory and her artistic history of excellence of achievement with the Estampas
Porteñas. Additionally, Bill White, Governor of Texas, proclaimed October 14 as Day of Estampas Porteñas in
Houston.
New show:
Tango Feeling
The best Tango Show of the year; Tango Feling is pure passion, seduction and love.....
“Tango Feeling” the new show of Estampas Porteñas is also created by Carolina Soler promises to be a
spectacular extravaganza of tango dancing, music and sensuality.
The show is presented in two parts. The First part; Milonga has more traditional styles and the Second part;
The Show has more glamour and elegance movements and more contemporary Piazzolla´s Tango.
When the five glamorous young couples of Estampas Porteñas dance company take the stage, the sensuality
seems to radiate in waves, urged on by the sinuous, passionate sounds of a four-piece tango orchestra playing
the music of Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, they take the audience on a sizzling, but playful journey
from an atmospheric Buenos Aires dance cafe or "milonga", circa 1950, through modern tango’s daring
choreography and breathtaking lifts.
Part of the allure is the numerous, exceptionally well-cut costumes. "Sensuous twists and turns, lightning sharp
interaction between a pair of dancers, great music, sexy costumes and glamorous performers make Tango
Feeling a show that is full of adrenalin passion and good humour."
