MiniLaseSC TM Super-Compact Red & IR Diode Laser Modules Featuring Well-Collimated Circular Beams Performances The MiniLaseSCTM Family of lasers from Blue Sky Research has been specifically designed to offer superior beam qualities in a super-compact package for OEM applications. The MiniLaseSCTM products combine Blue Sky Research’s VPS (virtual point source) lasers with high quality glass optics, solid packages and laser drive electronics to offer a circular, diffraction-limited collimated beam with a lower divergence, thus tighter spot at distance than any regular diode laser, given the same outer dimension. The built-in automatic power stabilization (APC) function provides high stability and low noise as well as the current limit function to ensure the battery life. Properly used with a heat sink, modules have typical lifetimes, (MTTF, Mean Time to Failure) of +10,000 hrs. Features • • Circular, diffraction-limited collimated beam Super-compact package (φ7mm diameter) • Smaller targeting spot compared to any other diode laser in the same-dimension package Low-cost design for volume production • Applications • • • Targeting and aiming from 10m to 15km Guiding and aligning in construction and manufacturing Instrumentation where a compact and high-quality laser is required Options • • • Wavelength of 635nm, 650nm, 830nm, 850 nm and custom wavelengths available Internal driver via wire leads or customer-provided external driver via laser diode pins Custom package, power setting and beam size can be done – Contact BSR Contact Information: BLUE Sky Research * 1537 Centre Pointe Drive * Milpitas, CA 95035 * (408) 941-6068 * FAX (408) 941–0406 www.blueskyresearch.com * email: Sales @blueskyresearch.com MiniLaseSC Rev. 3/23/2006 MiniLaseSC TM Typical Specifications MiniLaseSCTM Series Wavelength (nm) Beam Characteristics Power (mW) Profile Package Size Nomial † Size (mm) Divergence Full Angle (mrad) Diameter (mm) Length (mm) Drawing With Driver W/O Driver With Driver W/O Driver 635 1, 5, 10, 30 Collimated 2.5 0.4 typ 0.5 max 7.0 25 17 A B 650 1, 5, 10 Collimated 2.5 0.4 typ 0.5 max 7.0 25 17 A B 830 40 Collimated 2.5 0.5 typ 0.7 max 7.0 25 17 A B 850 5, 20, 40 Collimated 2.5 0.5 typ 0.7 max 7.0 25 17 A B † Beam size is the diameter measured as 1/e2 aperture at the exit aperture of modules. This component does not comply with the Federal Regulations (21 CFR Subchapter1) as administered by the Center for Devices and Radiological health. Purchaser acknowledges that his/her products must comply with these regulations before they can be sold to a customer. The output light from laser diodes is harmful to a human body even if it is invisible. Avoid looking at the output light of a FiberTEC directly or even indirectly through a lens during operation. Observance of operation should be through a TV camera or related equipment. Refer to IEC 825-1 and 21 CFR 1040.10-1040.11 as a radiation safety standard for laser products. Blue Sky Research follows a policy of continuous improvement. Specifications are subject to change without notice.
