Sickle-Sofia Property – Toodoggone Camp
 Jointly owned by
BCGold Corp (51%) &
Stealth Minerals (49%).
 9,077 hectare property
35 km from AuRico’s
Kemess Mine which
produced 3 million ozs
gold and 750 million
pounds copper
 $3.0 M in exploration to
date. ($1.5M – BCG)
 ‘Sofia’ copper-gold
porphyry discovery with

4
History
•
1960s – Regional mapping and sampling by Cominco and Kennco
focused on porphyry potential at Black Lake, Shasta, Pine, Kemess
North, Brenda, and Sickle-Sofia.
•
1980s – 3 epithermal gold-silver mines developed in the Toodoggone
region (Baker, Lawyers, Shasta)
–
Peralto Resources and Skylark Resources conducted geological and
geochemical programs at nearby Kevin, Pil-Lar and Chess epithermal gold
prospects.
•
1999-2002 – Stealth Minerals staked initial Sickle-Sofia claims based on
anomalous 1997 BCGS silt samples. Prospecting identified veins and
silicified zones anomalous in gold and silver.
•
2003-2004 – Stealth Minerals completed prospecting, mapping, airborne
geophysics, soil geochemistry and diamond drilling on Sickle-Sofia and
surrounding Toodoggone properties.
•
–
10,000 rock, core and soil samples
–
880 PIMA alteration analysis
–
3,323m (24 holes) diamond drilling testing Quartz Lake and Griz-Sickle veins
2005-2006 – Stealth completed 42 line-km of IP and ground magnetic
geophysics covering western portion of Sickle-Sofia property.
5
History (2)
•
September 2006 – Sickle-Sofia property optioned to BCGold Corp.
•
2007 – BCGold Corp. focused on the porphyry potential of the Sofia and
Alexandra showings
– Completed additional 36 line-km of IP and ground magnetic
geophysics. 3D inversion of IP chargeability and resistivity defined
a 5.5 sq-km anomaly.
– Completed 1,514m of diamond drilling (4 holes Sophia / 1 hole
Alexandra).
– Drill hole BCG07-01 collared near Sophia outcrop intersected
porphyry-style mineralization throughout length of drill hole. Two
copper-gold zones returned 25m of 0.15% Cu / 0.12 g/t Au; and
47m of 0.13% Cu / 0.08 g/t Au.
– Drill hole BCG07-03 intersected high-sulphidation alteration and
anomalous gold mineralization. Entire hole returned average 260m
of 0.16 g/t Au, including bottom 20m assayed 0.45 g/t Au.
– Other 3 drill holes testing the IP chargeability-high intersected
widespread pyrite mineralization with narrow zones anomalous in
gold +/- copper. May represent the pyritic halo of the porphyry
system.
6
Property Location
 Sickle-Sofia property is
35km north of the Kemess
Mine in northern British
Columbia, Canada
 Kemess Mine is located
410 km north of
Mackenzie, BC along the
all-weather Omineca
Resource Road
 Summer road servicing
Shasta Mine and Sturdee
Airstrip is 10 km from
Sickle-Sofia
7
Regional Geology
 Toodoggone region
consists of Stikine /
Quesnel Terranes which
are primarily island-arc
volcanic belts of late
Triassic to early Jurassic
age
 Stikine/Quesnel rocks are
fault bounded to the east
by older, metamorphosed
sedimentary rocks of
Cassiar Terrane
 Region is intruded by
coeval (early-mid Jurassic)
and post-accretionary
(early Cretaceous) plutons
8
Regional Geology (Intrusive Rocks)
• Mid-Jurassic Black Lake Intrusive suite includes:
– Black Lake Pluton (granodiorite to quartz monzonite)
– Jock Creek Pluton (quartz monzonite, diorite)
– Giegerich and Duncan Lake Plutons (hornblendebiotite granodiorite, monzonite, quartz monzonite, quartz
diorite)
– Sovereign Pluton (quartz-hornblende-biotite granodiorite
to tonalite)
• Porphyry copper-gold mineralization associated with
quartz monzonite dykes and dyke swarms
9
Sickle-Sofia Property Geology
 West dipping Triassic Takla
Fm. exposed at the Sophia
outcrop, consists of andesite
flows with augite phenocrysts
 Jurassic Toodoggone Fm. in
the west consists of
intercalated andesite flows
and crystal/lithic tuff
 Overlain by mafic and
rhyolite flows indicating
bimodal volcanism topped
with 2 to 4 metre erosional
unconformity
 Epithermal mineralization
occurs below unconformity,
implying extrusive (“VMS”)
mineralization potential
10
Property Geology (Intrusive Rocks)
• Mapping identified a large, west dipping quartz monzonite
stock of the Black Lake group
• Stock intrudes the upper Takla Group, and is coeval with
the overlying Toodoggone Fm. volcanic rocks
• The Black Lake stock was mapped over an 18 km strike
length around the margins of Nub Mountain Massif
• Sofia copper-gold porphyry mineralization is associated with
magnetite bearing phase of the Black Lake Pluton, or a
nested stock related to the Jock Creek Pluton

Sofia Porphyry Discovery
•
Copper-Gold porphyry targets at
lower elevations.
•
Sofia porphyry outcrop discovered
on shore of Toodoggone River.

potassic alteration and quartzmagnetite-chalcopyrite veins.
•
Valley blanketed with glacial till
with little outcrop exposure. Bhorizon soil sampling does not
respond well.
•

Sickle-Sofia IP, Cu-Au Soil Geochemistry and
Diamond Drilling
•
Previous operators focused on
epithermal gold veins at Quartz
Lake-Griz-Sickle
•
In 2007, BCGold focused on
porphyry exploration. Completed
32 km IP survey and 5 drill holes
(1,514 m).
•
DDH BCG07-01 intersects
copper-gold porphyry
mineralization at Sophia
•
DDH BCG07-03 intersects highsulphidation gold mineralization
at Alexandra
•
Drilling, IP geophysics, with soil
geochem and mapping at higher
elevations indicate the discovery
of a preserved, telescoping
porphyry-epithermal system
•
Numerous targets require drill
testing!

Soil Geochemistry
Gold-in-Soil
Copper-in-Soil
B-Horizon soil geochemistry works well at higher elevations with thin overburden. Fails to highlight the
Sofia porphyry discovery covered by thicker glacial till.

Summary
• Drilling, alteration mapping, soil geochemistry and
a 5.5 sq-km IP geophysical anomaly all indicate
the discovery of a copper-gold porphyry with an
intact high-sulphidation overprint.
• Next Steps:
– Step out drilling near Sophia and Alexandra
discoveries
– Drill test other high-priority targets such as
Alunite Ridge and BS Gold
– Expand soil geochemistry and IP/magnetic
geophysics on the east side of the
Toodoggone River
