Group Fitness Class Descriptions
(Class Level Key – (B)eginner
(I)ntermediate (A)dvanced)
Aqua Fitness (BIA) – Low-Medium-High intensity options. The instructor may use a variety of fun equipment including balls, noodles,
steps, kick boards and dumbbells. This is a workout to attain cardio fitness and muscle tone. Also good for anyone with joint pain or
arthritis.
Back to Basics (BI) – This class offers a combination of floor aerobics and strength conditioning using weights and bands. This energetic
workout will provide you with 30 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength and end with a great cool down and stretch.
Basic Cardio (B) – This class teaches the basics of floor aerobics, kickboxing and strengthening drills.
Basic Cycling (B) - You will learn proper bike set up and bike safety as you spin through a guided ride composed of climbs, flats, jumps and
maybe even a sprint or two. Don’t forget your water bottle and towel. This class provides the foundations needed to enjoy any of our other
cycle classes.
Basic Line Dancing (B) - Learn the basic steps of line dance with this low impact class. Never dance before? The first 15 minutes are for
you.
Basic Muscle Definition (B) – Learn proper technique and form, while toning your body. Essential to progressing to the next level of
weight training.
Basic Step (B) – Learn the basic elements of step class. Get familiar with cueing and simple combinations.
Basic Yoga (B) – Learn basic yoga poses and techniques to engage your spirit, mind and body.
Cardio Blast (IA) - Is it time to mix up that Wellness Center routine? This high energy and calorie burning workout offers a combination of
step, floor aerobics, kickboxing and strengthening drills to give you a fun workout you won't forget.
Contact Boxing (IA) - If you are looking for an intense cardio vascular workout check out Contact Boxing. This blend of athletic drills, focus
pad practice, standing bag work and kickboxing combinations will get your heart pumping. Gloves are not required, but suggested.
Cheernastics – Learn basic gymnastics along with jumps and cheer movements.
Choga (B) – A unique yoga style that adapts positions and poses through creative use of a chair. The chair replaces the mat and is also
used for support in standing poses.
Core (BIA) - A class that focuses on the muscles responsible for strong abdominals and a healthy back. Use a variety of equipment to learn
effective strengthening techniques to help improve posture and reduce lower back stress.
Creative Movement – Introduction to coordination, balance, flexibility and focus.
Cycling (IA) - Bring the outdoors in as you enjoy this athletic cycle workout designed to simulate a rode ride or maybe some single track.
Whatever you decide customize this workout to meet your own fitness needs and goals.
Cycling and Strength (IA) -A head to toe workout with the combination of indoor cycling and strength training intervals using light weights
and bands. Participants will be off and on the bike.
Dance Fit—A fun, energetic class that teaches all kinds of dance moves. Easy for kids and parents to do and enjoy.
Family Tae Kwon Do – A class governed by the tenants of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit.
Forever Fit (B) – Great for those who desire a light workout, individuals with arthritis and active seniors. Use the chair for part or all of your
workout.
Intermediate Line Dancing (I) – Learn the latest moves in this moderate intensity, low impact dance class.
Interval Circuit (IA) - Are you ready? This basic yet challenging workout is only for those members who are looking to sweat. Get that
heart pumping through a variety of intense cardio and Plyometric drills combined with powerful strength training.
Kids Fun Fit— Come have fun playing games, running relays and learning to exercise & eat right.
Muscle Definition (IA) - A challenging and effective all over body workout utilizing a variety of equipment including weights, body bars,
tubing and balls to increase your personal strength. You will never get the same workout twice in this class.
Step Interval (IA) - This class features step combinations to elevate the heart rate followed by short bursts of muscle conditioning
segments.
Stretch (BIA) – This class is great for everyone! It promotes health, improves circulation and relieves stress.
Totally Step (IA) – If you like fancy footwork this class is for you. Enjoy choreographed step routines in this 45 minute class.
Tumblebugs – This class teaches coordination and the basics of gymnastics to pre-schoolers.
“Y” Kwon Do – Governed by the same tenants as Tae Kwon Do, this class is designed to prepare youth, ages 5-6 to learn skills for belt
advancement and continuing into Tae Kwon Do at the age of 7. (If you already have a yellow belt, please see instructor).
Yoga (BI) This mind/body class emphasizes on building strength, flexibility and stamina through a guided practice using a variety of poses.
Yogalates (BI) – This class offers a combination of yoga and pilates.
Zumba (BI) - Are you ready to mambo and cha-cha your way to a healthier you? If the beat is calling, these fun dance moves are simple
and easy to follow during this 45 minute workout. These classes consist of a combination of Latin dance, reggaton and hip-hop. All dances are
done on the floor and the only equipment needed is a desire to have some fun and get a great workout.
