At Spaulding Outpatient Centers, we’re committed to providing state-of-the-art sports medicine and clinical care for athletes of all ages and skill levels. As a leader in rehabilitative care, we use the latest technology and research to treat a range of conditions, including: • Acute Sports Injury • Strains, Sprains and Other Injuries • Muscle, Tendon and Ligament Tears and Repairs • Tendonitis and Tendinopathies • Hand Injuries • Shoulder Dislocation and Surgery • Foot and Ankle Dysfunction • Biomechanical Issues If you experience pain or suffer an injury while participating in your sport or activity, it is important to consult an experienced sports medicine professional. A prompt evaluation may save you from a more serious injury. A simple change in your training or a small correction in your equipment may be all that is needed. If the evaluation shows a more serious problem, the sports medicine experts at Spaulding will work with you and your physician to create a comprehensive plan of therapy. Whatever your sport, the staff at Spaulding can help you keep enjoying it by building your strength, improving your balance and flexibility, and increasing your endurance. Our treatment plans start with hands-on care combined with customized treatments that often include: • Biomechanical assessment of alignment, function, strength, range of motion and flexibility • Joint and soft tissue mobilization to increase range of motion • Modalities to increase tissue flexibility, decrease pain and swelling, and promote healing • Consultation regarding bracing, taping, and orthotics.
