100 g
CHARACTERISTICS
Bacillus subtilis is a bacterium which exerts a preventive activity to eliminate or minimise attacks of parasitic
fungi, through mechanisms of competition that deprive the pathogenic microorganisms of nutritional
substances and space, thereby inhibiting their germination.
The BSF4 preparation has shown clear effectiveness in the containment of attacks by Bacterial fire blight
(Erwinia amylovora) of pear, when applied during the periods of greatest crop susceptibility (e.g. flowering).
In addition, the BSF4 preparation has been found to be active in the containment of other fungal diseases.

Pear, apple

Downy mildew
Tomato, lettuce, flowers-ornamental plants
Bacillus subtilis strain BSF4 occurs in nature and is not genetically modified, it is not toxic to humans or animals, and
does not have any harmful effects on the environment.
The BSF4 formulation is suitable as part of an organic farming or integrated crop protection strategy because, due to the
absence of a pre-harvest interval, the preparation can be used for treatments even close to harvest time.
The BSF4 formulation, stored at room temperature in the original packaging, remains stable for 18 months.
RECOMMENDED AMOUNTS
The BSF4 formulation is used in a concentration of 100-150 g/hl of spraying solution.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Apply as a preventive treatment in the presence of conditions favourable to development of the disease, or
when the first signs of infection appear. In the specific case of fire blight, carry out the treatments:
during flowering (at least three applications)
within the 24 hours following any potentially infectious event
immediately prior to any potentially infectious event (where possible)
It is recommended to mix BSF4 solution with amino-acid based products (hydrolysed protein or seaweed) to
enhance the vitality of the antagonist on the leaves and fruits. It is not advisable to apply the product during the
hottest and sunniest hours of the day, due to the inhibitory action of UV rays.
INTERACTIONS
The BSF4 preparation is compatible with the most commonly used insecticides, fertilizers, herbicides (except for
formulations containing linuron and pendimethalin), fungicides (except for products based on chlorothalonil, cymoxanil,
dimethomorph, iprodione, metalaxyl-m, thiram and those containing copper).
