TB MEDICAL CONSULTANT’S MEETING NOVEMBER 9-10, 2011 CME CERTIFIED ACTIVITY Course Location New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute 225 Warren St. 1st Floor Newark, New Jersey Sponsored By University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute, and UMDNJ-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education The New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute is the tuberculosis Regional Training and Medical Consultation Center for the northeastern United States This activity is supported by an educational grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Tuberculosis Elimination WHY COURSE IS NEEDED As the incidence of TB continues to decline, maintaining clinical expertise is particularly challenging. Therefore, ongoing training and education are important for clinicians so they can develop and enhance skills in the diagnosis of TB, follow recommended treatment guidelines, and interact effectively with public health agencies. COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss current and emerging TB issues, as well as the management of routine and complicated TB cases. COURSE REQUIREMENTS In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credits, participants are required to attend the entire meeting, and complete an evaluation form and a follow up evaluation within 2 months of the meeting. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This meeting is designed for physicians who serve as TB medical consultants for TB programs in the Northeastern Region of the United States. Physicians who provide TB medical consultation may also attend.
