Dhul Hijjah 1430H (November 19—December 18, 2009)
Imsaak/Fajr Salat Note: The original calculated Fajr time is exactly between above mentioned Imsaak and Fajr Salat timings. As a precaution we have subtracted 7 minutes
for Imsaak, and added 7 minutes for Salatul Fajr. Therefore you will be responsible for your Sawm (fasting) and Salat if you don’t follow this precaution. If you exceed 7
minutes from Imsaak time, your Sawm (fasting) will be Batil (void). As far as Tahajjud Salat is concerned, it can be continued during this 7 minutes precautionary time.
Note: The start of each lunar month (Hijri date) is subject to sighting of the moon. Please contact IEC for updated information if the start of the lunar month is earlier or later
than predicted. IEC will update www.iechusaini.org and email a revised calendar if this occurs.

the joys of the three important Eid (festivity) celebrations. We’ll start the celebrating with Eidal-Adha Namaz and Sermon program on Saturday, November 28 Insha’Allah, promptly at
9:00am led by Hujjatul Islam Saiyed Mehboob Mehdi Abidi al-Najafi. Moulana Mehdi will also
preside over what will be yet another memorable Jashan-e-Eid-e-Ghadeer and Eid-eMubahila program on Friday, December 4. Join the celebrations this month! May the blessings

SAYED AMMAR NAKSHAWANI TO SPEAK AT IEC
Sayed Ammar Nakshawani will speak at Jashan Eid-e-Ghadeer, Insha’Allah. Sayed Ammar,
born in 1981, is the grandson of late Ayatollah Sayed Murtuza Nakshawani. He is a renowned
and powerful Islamic lecturer. In 2003, he graduated from the University College of London in
Psychology and Law with concurrent (minor) studies in political science in modern Britain. He
completed his Masters degree in Islamic Studies and is currently completing his PhD at the University of Exeter. Sayed Ammar, an Islamic Historian, began lecturing at the age of 19 at youth
discussion circles in London. His first international series of lectures were in 2003 during the
holy month of Ramdan in Dubai at the age of 22. He has also lectured throughout Europe including the UK, Netherlands, France, Sweden and Switzerland. In 2009, an estimated 11,000
people attended his lecture on the 21st of Ramadan in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and over 6,000
people attended his Muharrum lectures at Le Parc, Toronto, Canada.
Sayed Ammar's lectures are broadcast on a number of renowned Middle-Eastern channels with
an emphasis on Islamic and inter-faith dialogue. He has also conducted interviews for television
stations in the UK and North America. He has been a guest on the South African radio channel
‘Voice of the Cape,’ ‘Press TV’ in the UK, and ‘Islam in Focus’ in Canada.

We ask our Hajj pilgrims to please pray for the hastened return of our Imam (as). Please pray
for the protection, unity, and continued spiritual-growth of the followers of Ahl ul-Bayt (as).
We wish them a safe journey. Insha’Allah we will celebrate upon their return. Fi amanillah.

Ghadeer-e-Khum is located
between Mecca and Madina.
While returning from his last
Hajj from Mecca to Madina,
Prophet Muhammad (saww),
along with his companions,
broke the journey at a lake, 3
miles away from Al-Johfa. The
Prophet (saww) halted at midday
in a wayside tract of barren land
with no shade other than that
provided by a few acacia trees.
Khum is the name of the Ghadeer which means small lake or
pond in Arabic, therefore this
place is known as Ghadeer-eKhum.

1. Confirm scheduled program date and start time on the website or download calendar
2. Check your computer, monitor and audio connections
3. Close any open programs that may be sharing your computers video and audio capabilities
4. Refresh your browser screen by clicking on the “refresh” icon on your tool bar

Handicap Parking
Aside from the regularly scheduled weekly programs, the month of Dhul
Hijjah offers multiple Jashan, Majalis and Eid programs that are well-attended
Mash’Allah. During the busy next few months, IEC unfortunately begins to
encounter frequent unauthorized parking in its handicap parking spaces. As a
friendly reminder, please remember not to park in the handicap parking
spaces unless you have a state issued permit. The permit must be clearly visible through the front windshield or a handicap sign/designation must be on the license plate.
The handicap parking rules and law are State and Federal mandates. They must be obeyed.
Please note that violators will have their cars towed without notice at their expense. A handicap parking space at IEC Husaini will not have any less enforcement than at other public
places. Let’s make sure the Mu’mineen and Mu’minaat who need the handicap parking spaces
have them available. Jazakum’Allah Khair.
