LAMA GLENN MULLIN
LAMA GLENN MULLIN is a Tibetologist, author of over 25 books on
Vajrayana Buddhism, translator of classical Tibetan literature, and
teacher of Tantric Buddhist meditation. He divides his time between
writing, teaching, meditating, and leading pilgrimages to the power
centers of Central Asia. Glenn lived in the Himalayas for 12 years,
where he studied philosophy, literature, meditation, yoga, and the
enlightenment culture under thirty-five of the greatest living masters of
the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. His two principal Tantric gurus
were the late great masters Kyabje Ling Dorjechang, and Kyabje Trijang
Dorjechang, who were best known as Yongdzin Che Chung, the two
main gurus of the present Dalai Lama. The list of Glenn’s other teachers
and initiation masters includes the Dalai Lama, Sakya Trizin Rinpoche,
Kalu Rinpoche, Ngakpa Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche, Tai Situ Rinpoche,
Khenchen Konchok Gyaltsen, Geshe Ngawang Dargyey, Geshey

TEACHINGS ON THE HEART OF BLISS:
TANTRIC INITIATION AND TEACHINGS ON THE CHAKRASAMVARA MANDALA OF
TILBUPA, WITH SPECIAL CONNECTION TO THE SIX YOGAS OF NAROPA
The Tantric path walks the razor's edge between the scared and profane, but holds the
capacity for enlightenment in one lifetime. It is the secret way in which all objects of
experience are brought into the Wheel of Bliss.
In addition to the initiation and a general introduction to the Chakrasamvara Mandala
practice, special attention will be given to dreams and dream yoga. Participants will learn
how to cultivate a daily practice, and maintain Tantric awareness in all situations.
5 DEITY CHAKRASAMVARA EMPOWERMENT
Heruka, Chakrasamvara, or the “Tantra of the Wheel of Supreme Bliss,” is a
key practice for advanced students of Vajrayana Buddhism. Chakrasamvara
is a Higher Tantra that contains within it the entire system of meditation and
yogic practices that are a path to inner bliss.
In general it is said that Tantric Buddhism is only appropriate for students of
highest karmic capacity, i.e., for those who have cultivated basic Buddhist
practice in this, or in previous lifetimes: please only apply for a seat in the
retreat if you feel this describes you.

The Cenacle Retreat and Conference Center
is an oasis of peace and contemplation
located on Chicago’s North side in the heart
of the Lincoln Park neighborhood. It is
within easy walking distance of the Lincoln
Park Conservatory and Zoo.
The Retreat Center on Fullerton Avenue can
be reached by major traffic arteries. North
and South Expressways connect to the I-90
Kennedy Expressway (west of the center) or
Lake Shore Drive (east of the center) which
both have exits for Fullerton Avenue. There
is a free parking lot at the site for a limited
number of vehicles.
The Center can also be reached by public
transportation including the “L” from
O’Hare and Midway Airports. The Brown
Line train ($2.00) Fullerton Avenue stop is
five blocks from the retreat center.
