The Power of Probiotics
P
robiotics are friendly lactic acid bacteria (LAB) that provide beneficial
effects when taken internally. Most LAB live in the intestinal tract, but
they can be found elsewhere in and on the body. Believe it or not, we
actually have more LAB residing in our bodies than individual human cells! These
probiotics help to keep us healthy by:

E
ssential Formulas Incorporated
(EFI) President and CEO,
Michael Schoor, discovered Dr.
Ohhira’s Probiotics when he experienced
severe digestive distress while traveling
in Malaysia. Without the pharmaceutical
drug he typically used, Michael
sought relief from a local doctor who
administered several small brown capsules
that literally halted his symptoms in their tracks. Impressed with his quick
recovery, Michael was determined to learn more about these pills that the doctor
had called “probiotics”.
Michael’s search ultimately led him to Japan where he met with Iichiroh Ohhira,
