Here at the Northwest Independent Hospital we take a proactive approach
and are always looking to apply best practise to ensure our highest standards
are kept. when trialling new products we are always happy to try something
new that can improve our practises and shows that the hospital is receptive
to new innovations in the scientific world.
During the presentation from the Medi-Shower representatives, the
Northwest Independent Hospital agreed to trial the Medi-Shower product
into one ofthe surgical ward rooms in February 2015. After one month of
regular use water samples were taken from the shower head and
independently tested for any bacterial growth of Legionella & Pseudomonas.
The results came back satisfactory and no growth. Again in April2015
samples were taken and sent away for independent testing and again the
results came back satisfactory and no growth.

Over the pastT months of trialling the Medi-Shower we have had nothing
but positive feedback from Estates, the Infection control team and the Ward
Sister. The results from the tested Shower head & hose clearly shows that
the Medishower does indeed successfully deliver the promises made in the
brochure. After discussing the product in great detail we feel that the Medishower should be implemented throughout the hospital as it is clearly
superior to our existing units and practises. The advantages we feel it brings
to the hospital are:-

The sliver Ion technology incorporated in the product that is proven to
reduce the risk of harmful bacteria.
o
The colour-coded replaceable inserts are simple to use and would save
many hours of maintenance and cleaning and combined with the quarterly
control chart will improve monitoring of the cleaning process
o
cleaning the Medi-shower is simple as harmful chemicals aren't being
used during the Process.

The product is cost effective, in that it is less expensive to replace the insert
than to replace the entire shower head and hose combined with the
maintenance of disinfecting/descaling of the whole unit'

With all factors taken into consideration during our 7 month trial I would
like to confirm that the Northwest Independent Hospital would like to
purchase Medi-Shower units and have them all implemented/installed
throughout the hospital in October 2015.
