Symposium Overview: This year’s symposium will focus on the reconstruction of head and neck
cancer defects as a result of surgery. As survival rates continue to improve, an increased emphasis is
placed on the restoration of quality of life: jaw function, eating, swallowing, speech and self-esteem.
A renowned panel of experts will present the use of 3-D computer-based treatment planning,
radiation and chemotherapy, ablative surgery, microvascular free tissue transfer, dental implants and
maxillofacial prostheses to accomplish these goals. We encourage you to attend and actively
participate. The goal is to enhance your abilities to contribute to the care of patients in our community.
