ECCENTRIC STRENGTHENING OF THE NECK FLEXORS
(FRONT NECK MUSCLE STRENGTHENING)
Lying on your back with your hands clasped behind the head, pull the head forward so that the
chin is drawn toward the chest and a stretch is felt through the back of the neck.
Hold for 5-10 seconds, then slowly lower the head back to the table.
Use your hands only as support for the head, the emphasis is placed on keeping the chin down as
the head is returned to the table.
Repeat_____times.
Eventually the deep front neck muscles become stronger and the hands should no longer be
needed to assist in slowly returning the head back to the table.
