Ricerca Biosciences, LLC announces new
phase of investment in our core business
At Ricerca Biosciences, we are heavily engaged in achieving growth and operational excellence in
2013, while preparing our investment planning portfolio for 2014 and our five-year strategic planning
process. With the recent sale of our facility in Lyon, France, we are now on an accelerated path
towards further investment in our core service offerings, including chemical development, drug
substance production and characterization, and non-clinical drug safety and metabolism. The intent
of Ricerca’s strategic reorganization, which began in 2012, was to focus growth on our singlecampus integrated drug development business. This plan is progressing as envisioned and
because the facility in France provided services that were largely duplicative to our US-based
toxicology operations, we see this divestiture having virtually no impact on our ability to fully support
our core global customer base.
Throughout 2013 we have been upgrading staffing, capacity, and capabilities at a fairly aggressive
pace. Funds generated in this recent transaction are immediately being put to use to finance further
investment into expansion of our core capability set. Over the next 18 months, expect to see
continued hiring of additional scientists and technical talent, capital investments, and expansion of
service lines directly in the core of our offerings.
