Digitek Injuries
A trade-name for Digoxin – which is also referred to as Digitalis - Digitek is a purified cardiac
glycoside (which is defined as a category of drugs designed to be used to treat patients affected
by congestive heart failure and/or cardiac arrhythmia).
It is extracted from the foxglove plant, Digitalis lanata. Digoxin was regularly used in the
treatment of a range of heart-related conditions, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and
heart failure that did not successfully respond to other forms of prescribed treatment.
Digitek has been shown to pose some serious health risks to the patient. For example, on April 25, 2008, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) released a statement to
the effect that Actavis Totowa LLC, a U.S.-based manufacturing division of the Activas Group an international generic pharmaceutical company - was initiating a Class I nationwide recall of
Digitek (digoxin tablets, USP, all strengths) for oral use. The specific products at issue were distributed by the Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., under a
"Bertek" label and by UDL Laboratories, Inc. under a "UDL" label. The recall was voluntary, the FDA reported, and resulted from a serious concern that Digitek
tablets with approximately double the appropriate and recommended levels of ingredients could
have been made commercially available to the general public. The FDA explained that (1) the possible existence of double-strength tablets potentially posed a
very serious risk of digitalis toxicity in patients with renal failure,
(2)
illnesses and injuries had been reported in people to whom Digitek had been prescribed; and
that
(3)
“
Death can also result from excessive Digitalis intake
.”

Specific medical records showing treatment with Digitek must be obtained in order to file a claim
on your behalf. We will need to help you locate exactly where Digitek was provided to you or
your family member and determine the exact nature of the injuries and the date or dates the
injuries occurred.
It is often possible to pursue a case on behalf of the estate of a deceased individual.
Please call us to discuss your potential case if your potential case meets the above criteria,
even if Digitek may have caused the death of someone you know.
If you are not sure or need additional help, please fill out our form or call us for help at
1-866-LAW-0001 A member of our firm will call you as soon as possible to help you determine the

Digitek & Statute of Limitations:
Statutes of Limitations Deadlines must be carefully observed. If you or a loved one have
suffered an injury from Digitek or any other drug or cause, etc., you should consult with an
attorney as soon as possible concerning the statute of limitations in your potential case. 3/5
Digitek Injuries
An expired statute of limitations can mean no compensation for side effects of a drug that
caused personal injury or death. If you have suffered serious side effects or death from Digitek, you may have a claim for legal
compensation. Claims involving a Digitek-related disease or death are best made by filing an individual lawsuit
instead of a class action. All states have statutes of limitations that determine the time period for filing a Digitek lawsuit. The applicable statute of limitation, or deadline to file claims, varies from state to state. The
personal injury statute of limitations can also be different from the wrongful death statute of
limitations. The Fox Law Firm handles all Digitek claims on a contingency fee basis. This means there is
no bill for legal services until after the firm receives a settlement or award for you in your
potential claim. If you have a potential legal claim that you would like us to evaluate, please click on
"Can We Help You?" in the upper right hand corner of this screen, and fill out our very
simple form. We will contact you as soon as possible. If you prefer, you may contact
us by calling one of the numbers listed below.
In all personal injury cases, it is extremely important that measures be taken promptly
to preserve evidence, investigate the accident or toxic exposure in question, and to
enable physicians, attorneys, or other expert witnesses to thoroughly evaluate any
injuries. If you or a loved one or friend is injured and may have a potential legal claim, call The
Fox Law Firm now at 1-866-FOX-FIRM (369-3476). The initial consultation is FREE OF CHARGE, and if we agree to accept your case, we
will work on a contingent fee basis, which means we get paid for our services only if
there is a monetary award or recovery of funds. 4/5
Digitek Injuries
You may have a valid claim and be entitled to compensation for your injuries, but a
lawsuit must be filed before the statute of limitations expires. Do not delay! If you delay, and the statute of limitations time period expires, you may lose all your
rights to file any claim for compensation of any kind.
