DERRICKMAN – Service Rig experienced required
Working on rig sites in PA, OH, and WV
The Derrickman is part of the crew working on the company’s service rigs that are responsible for servicing oil and
gas wells. The duties include performing all servicing tasks from an elevated position (tubing board). The
Derrickman will also assist in rigging-up or down, picking up or laying down pipe, and other functions specified by
the customer or rig operator. All duties are to be performed according to standard operating procedures in order
to maximize the safety of all personnel at the worksite and to efficiently perform the task.
Responsibilities / Tasks
• Aiding the rig operator in overseeing all of the well servicing rig processes
• Effectively handling rods/tubular
• Monitoring fluids systems
• Servicing rig engines
• Supervising floor hands and laborers
Rigging-up and down: will be responsible for all elevated work associated with rigging-up or down.
The Derrickman will perform from the tubing board (transferring drill pipe from the vertical racks to the elevator).
For standing drill pipe, the Derrickman assists in lifting the drill pipe from the rack onto the work floor or vice versa.
The Derrickman may need to work floors or operate the rig.
Job Requirements:
 Previous experience working on a Service Rig in the Natural Gas /Oil industry
 Company operates – Hubbard, Service Kings and Falcon rigs
 Able to work safely at a fast pace – Service rigs move often
 Current Safelands, Wild Well, OSHA, and H2S Training preferred
 Valid Driver’s license required
 Reliable transportation to rig sites and/or lodging
 Post-employment drug/alcohol urinalysis and Post offer physical examination required
 Random drug testing is done often by both the service company employed by and the producer companies who
manage the sites
Overview of Schedule & Benefit Information:
Crew works a 14 days on 7 days off - Able to work A.M or P.M. Shifts
At this time rig crews are working up to 3 weeks at time
Hourly wage - Overtime rate paid after 40 hours (Derricks starting $19.00/hr)
$160 per diem per shift – for meals and lodging
Benefits start 1st of the month after 60 days of service - Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage
**Company pays 100% medical premiums for employee and 75% for dependent coverage
Physical Requirements of Job: Amount of each day spent: Standing: 75% Walking: 15% Sitting: 10%
Employee works: Inside: 10% Outside: 90%. While performing job, employee will be required: lifting/carrying (0100lbs), pulling/pushing (0-75lbs), and squat, kneel and climb ladders/stairs
Safety Equipment Required:
The following safety equipment is to be worn on the job (when applicable): Goggles/ face shields /safety glasses,
hard hats, safety belts, gloves, ear plugs, steel toed boots, suits SCBA, H2S monitors, and fall protection
