Since the publication of his book “From the Shepherd’s Purse” in 1979 until his death in 1998 Max
dedicated his life’s work to the development of a very special extraction technique for several herbs and
herbal combinations. He worked with Dr. E.T. Krebs, Sr. for many years on the plant “Lomatium
Dissectum” which resulted in the formulation of LDM-100. LDM-100 has been used extensively by
Naturopathic Doctors, Chiropractors, Medical Doctors, Herbalists and health food store owners for the past
38 years. It is well known as a broad spectrum plant antibiotic and is mainly used for its powerful anti-viral

The LDM-100 Story
On the eastern slopes of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains grows a very important
plant in the Parsley Family. The western Indians have long used this plant to
prevent and treat many ailments.
The plant is botanically called Lomatium dissectum, so named because of its
long, slender, hollow stem and its oil producing linear glands in the ripening
seeds. The Indians called the medicinal root of this plant “the Dortza”, meaning
– “heap powerful medicine.” Particularly, the Washoe Indians collected the root
in September and October when the richest supply of oils were concentrated in
the large underground root. At least five or six gums, oils and oleoresins are
present in the very aromatic root. After collecting the root, they sliced it
longitudinally, exposing the volatile oils to the oxidizing (polymerization) effects of the air, which converts the
oils to a stabilized resin. The cured root would then be hung to dry from the ceiling of their hogan until it was
needed.
During the flu pandemic of 1917-1918, the root came into extensive use by the two Washoe Indian bands near
Carson City, Nevada. Dr. E.T. Krebs Sr., the contract physician who was assigned by the U.S. government to the
Washoe Indians, was dumbfounded to find that the two groups of Indians were free from respiratory illness
and that no deaths had been attributed to the influenza “bug.” This was especially amazing because both
Indians and white people were “dying like flies” throughout the entire region, the nation and the world.
Spotting the dried root hanging from their hogans, Dr. Krebs asked what it was and what its use was. He was
told it was “heap powerful medicine,” and that it was used to prevent colds and the flu. He asked if he could
try this medicine on some of his white patients and, after making a crude preparation and giving it to his nonIndian patients in San Francisco, he said, “They just stopped dying.”
How it works
Scientific investigation of the plant reveals that the volatile oil factions in the root contain the antiviral/antibiotic ingredient. Also present are powerful anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties. The Lomatium
dissectum extract has a viro-static effect, meaning that it stops the growth of all viruses, bacteria and fungus in
the body so that the body’s natural immune system can eliminate the lethal micro-organisms without harming
the ones necessary to good health. The effectiveness of Lomatium dissectum in eliminating infections and
restoring health is commensurate with an individuals’ natural immune system.
Effectiveness
Extensive work has been done by over five universities on Lomatium dissectum. It is a powerful, non-toxic,
viro-static against flu viruses, the trachoma virus, the Lansing Polio viruses, and numerous other viruses. By
1944, the Journal of Bacteriology reported, “The anti-biotic activity of oil factions separated from the root of
Lomatium dissectum was determined on 62 strains and species of bacteria, molds, and fungi. The heatstable active agent was bactericidal for gram- positive bacteria at 10-4 dilutions and at 10-3 for gram-negative
bacteria.” (Journal of Bacteriology, Vol. 55 No. 5 May 1944)

About the time this report was published, ‘miracle’ sulfa drugs began to be widely promoted. In the interest of
being ‘modern,’ no one wanted to use an old Indian remedy. With renewed interest in some natural remedies,
Dr. Krebs Jr. passed on the extracting techniques developed by his father to Dr. Max Barlow. The extract is
marketed today in an alcohol-based tincture as LDM-100.
Today’s Use
Barlow Herbal Specialties receives reports from those using LDM-100 of an approximately 95% success rate.
This magnificent product is currently being used in several cancer clinics (mostly in Mexico) with dramatic
results for clearing infection in cancer patients. The patients are given 3 to 5 drops sublingually 4 to 8 times a
day for 10 to 14 days. A Montana doctor writes, ‘I would not be without this product – especially for my
patients with viral infections.’
Dosage
Since LDM-100 is viro-static, the dosage depends upon the strength (or weakness) of the body’s natural
immune system. LDM-100 is completely natural and non-toxic; therefore, the dosage may be safely increased
until it takes effect. For normal use, 1/3 of a dropper taken orally or mixed in water or juice, two to three times
a day will combat respiratory infections as well as the flu and colds. The same amount gargled (and swallowed)
will clear a strep throat almost immediately. A drop or two should be applied topically for infected sores three
to four times a day.
As the above quote from the Journal of Bacteriology indicates, Lomatium dissectum is also effective against
molds and fungi. As a result, many of Barlow Herbal users are seeing great results in fighting Candida albicans
with our extract (when taken orally). When mixed with a douche, LDM-100 will clear up most yeast infections.
A drop between the toes will eradicate athlete’s foot.
LDM-100 may be taken as a preventative against viral infections or solely during high-risk periods. This wonder
drug of nature inhibits growth and reproduction of viral organisms, rendering them inactive, thus enabling
white blood cells to do their job.
Adults: 3 to 10 drops, 3 to 5 times daily, or more. It is suggested to begin with a low dosage and frequency and
gradually increase. Keep dosage low for the first 7 days and then increase as needed. Children: 3 to 4 drops, 4
to 6 times daily. It is also recommended to gradually increase quantity and frequency. 1 to 2 drops for babies
added to water or juice
It should be noted that some people may experience a one-time detox rash from an oil faction found in
Lomatium dissectum; as is possible from contact with any plant. The rash ranges from mild to full body and can
be itchy and uncomfortable. Such a reaction can be quickly overcome by taking Dandelion Root, Vitamin C, and
Pantothenic Acid. Two days of only fresh juices has been found to speed up the detox process. The addition of
fresh squeezed wheat grass juice is also extremely helpful. One can discontinue use of LDM-100 temporarily.

Lomatium Dissectum Rash Information
If you are new to LDM-100 (Lomatium dissectum) you could develop a one-time detox rash. This rash can
cover a small percentage of the body or be full body. It can be itchy, swollen and very uncomfortable and
sometimes accompanied by a fever and purple welts. If you have never used Lomatium we recommend taking
Dandelion root either in liquid or capsule form for a few days prior to taking Lomatium and continue taking
Dandelion root for the first week of taking Lomatium. This seems to help the body process the detox reaction
and in most cases lessen the chances of a rash, the severity of the rash in people who still get it and in some
cases - prevent it altogether.
You should always start with a very small dosage when taking Lomatium for the first time.
A very small dosage of the liquid Lomatium (LDM-100) would be 5-10 drops in water once a day for the first
week for adults. You can even start with 1-5 drops once a day for the first week. And in capsule form (SEES2000) one capsule once a day for the first week is considered a small dosage. It is easier to start with a smaller
dosage when Lomatium is in liquid form.
Such a reaction can be quickly overcome by taking Dandelion Root, Vitamin C, and Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5). Two to three days of only fresh juices has been found to speed up the detox process. The addition of fresh
squeezed wheat grass juice is also extremely helpful. A soothing Epson salt bath and calamine lotion will
usually provide relief from itching. One can discontinue use of LDM-100 temporarily while the rash is running
its course. It is very rare to get the rash a second time. When taking LDM-100 or SEES-2000 for the first time it
is recommended to start slow for the first 7 days as the rash usually takes between 5 and 7 days to show up
and about the same amount of time for the rash to go away.
MunityBoost vs. LDM-100
MunityBoost was developed because of the one-time detox rash that some people get from using a whole
plant extract of Lomatium.
Over the years we've had many of our customers (who are mainly practitioners) shy away from using the LDM100 because some of their patients/customers have experienced extremely bad rashes. Although it is a onetime detox rash the experience for both practitioner and patient was unpleasant enough that they don't want
to deal with it again.
So our best thoughts on using the MunityBoost versus the LDM-100 are: if you've got someone who has never
used LDM-100, they are a perfect candidate for the MunityBoost. Providing anti-viral results while preventing
the rash is the number one goal of MunityBoost. Also, we have many people who have been using the
MunityBoost during our testing phase and the general comments are that they like the properties and benefits
of the other herbs that make up MunityBoost.
The LDM-100 is still the gold standard for cold and flu season and by far the best way to go as a powerful antiviral.

MunityBoost - a powerful herbal extract from Barlow Herbal
Specialties.
The formulas of Dr. Max Barlow have been around for 35 years and lovingly carried
on by his children since his passing over 13 years ago. Our most popular formula is
an unbeatable extract of Lomatium dissectum (LDM-100). In some people this can
cause a one-time detox rash that is itchy, uncomfortable, unsightly, and to say the
least a little bit scary. This can detract from all the good that Lomatium can bring
and make it hard to recommend it to others. Over the years a lot of thought has
gone into helping those who get the Lomatium rash get over it as quickly as
possible. We have also been of the mindset that it would be wonderful to prevent
it, if at all possible, and still maintain the wonderful benefits of LDM-100.
This special combination of Lomatium dissectum, Dandelion root, Red root, Black Walnut hulls, Sarsaparilla,
Blue Vervain and St. John's Wort appears to be a start in the right direction. Each herb was chosen for its
ability to work hand in hand with the other herbs and their medicinal properties to prevent the Lomatium rash.
Together these herbs act as mainly an anti-viral. Other bodily influences: anti-inflammatory, expectorant,
blood purifier, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-depressant, anti-parasitic, sore throats coughs and fever. And
best of all, during our testing phase we have seen a substantial decrease of the probability of a rash in people
who have never used Lomatium dissectum products.
We cannot guarantee 100% prevention of the Lomatium rash but we feel very confident in the ability of
"MunityBoost" to do its job. It is safe for children and highly recommended as a preventative during cold and
flu season and times of travel for everyone.

SEES-Plus
SEES-Plus is the capsule form of our popular MunityBoost product. MunityBoost was
developed specifically to prevent the one-time detox rash and in the 5 years that it's
been out it has been a wonderful precursor to using LDM-100. Using MunityBoost we
have found that approximately one-tenth of one percent still experience the rash.
There are a few reasons people may prefer the SEES-Plus to the MunityBoost:

Vermicyde – GRD (for treatment of Giardia)
Vermicyde-GRD is a combination of the herbs, Tansy, Black Walnut Hulls and
Lomatium Dissectum and is used in the treatment of Giardia.
Tansy is a perennial that grows wild over much of the United States. It grows to 3
feet high, and prefers average soils and full to partial sun. The leaves and flowers
are collected during the flowering time between June and September. In the
fourteenth century we hear of Tansy being used as a remedy for wounds, and as a
bitter tonic, and Tansy Tea has an old reputation in country districts for fever and
other illnesses.
Tansy is an effective remedy for use in ridding the digestive tract of infestations of
worms and has been used for many years to expel worms from the body. The
herb is effective against roundworm and threadworm and may be used in
children as an enema. As a bitter it will stimulate the digestive process and ease
dyspepsia, having all the actions of a bitter tonic. It may be used as an
immunagogue to stimulate menstruation, but must be avoided during pregnancy. Externally it is used to treat
cuts and is also used to repel ants and other insects.
Lomatium dissectum was widely employed medicinally by many Native American Indian tribes who considered
it to be a universal panacea and used especially in treating chest problems and skin complaints. This is a Native
American Pacific Northwest anti-viral herb. Its root is harvested in the late fall when the medicinal properties
are at their peak.
Lomatium has many distinctive applications. It has the ability to suppress the growth of 62 types of bacteria
and fungi, a very impressive performance for any plant. Lomatium is employed for treating influenza, coughs,
colds, sore throats, and disorders such as hay fever, bronchitis, tuberculosis and pneumonia.
Lomatium, in some people, may cause a whole-body detox rash. The rash typically takes 5 to 7 days to

Echinacea & Mycocyde
Echinacea is also known as purple coneflower. It is the best known and
researched herb for stimulating the immune system. Echinacea has a rich
tradition of use by North American Plains Indians who used it medicinally more
than any other plant. It was prominent in modern American medicine in the
early 20th Century.
Echinacea facilitates wound healing, lessens symptoms of and speeds recovery
from viruses. Anti-inflammatory effects make it useful externally against
inflammatory skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema. It also increases
resistance to Candida, bronchitis, herpes, and other infectious conditions.
Herbalists consider Echinacea one of the best blood purifiers. It also activates

Essiac-20
As with many who experience the frontiers of knowledge, Rene Caisse speculated
about what many to this day do not understand. She felt there was an undiscovered
gland that was affected by Essiac, one that acts to inhibit the supply of the substances
that nourish cancer cells. The four herbs that everyone agrees are the cornerstones of
the Essiac formula are fairly well understood. All four herbs normalize body systems
by purifying the blood, promoting cell repair, and aiding effective assimilation and
elimination. When combined, their separate beneficial effects are synergistically
enhanced.
Burdock is the main herb in the formula adapted from the Ojibwa tradition.
Interestingly, it is also a key herb in Hildegard of Bingen’s 12th century internal tonic
for cancer. It is prized by many as a diuretic and even as the main herb to prevent
angiogenesis, the formation of auxiliary arteries that feed tumors.
Slippery elm must be one of the most nourishing and protective herbs nature has to offer. It is highly

used by Dr. Eli G. Jones, one of history's greatest cancer specialists. Slippery elm has been used for
gastrointestinal distress and recommended for people who are convalescing and wish to enrich a hot porridge
with something that is mildly medicinal and nourishing. It gives very fast relief for hyper acidic conditions and is
truly remarkable in the manner in which it confers ease.
Though Sheep's sorrel can be found in most temperament zones, its medicinal uses were first learned from
Native Americans. Like burdock, it is a diuretic and detoxifier. Also, as with other docks, it has laxative
properties, quite gentle, but nevertheless useful for detoxification of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a rich
source of trace minerals.
Turkey Rhubarb is an astringent herb with a major purging effect. It has a long history in China and many other
parts of the world as a laxative and effective treatment for many gastrointestinal problems. Due to the tannins
(which cause the astringency), this herb is constipating in small doses and laxative in higher doses. Therefore, a
proper formula is needed to bring about the intended purging of the colon without cramping. It has been used
extensively for the treatment of Candida albicans as well as bacterial infections, especially Staphylococcus
aureus. Studies suggest that one of its primary constituents, rhein, safely reduces infections in the eliminatory
system that contributes to inflammation.
Dr. Max Barlow worked with Rene Caisse for a period of time during the mid 1960's. He later added Water

East Star
East Star (Pau d’Arco, Chinese Astragalus, Chaparral and Suma) is one of the most
powerful combinations formulated by Dr. Max Barlow. This is an original formula
and is designed to be taken with Essiac-20 but can be taken on its own as a deep
immune activator and blood cleanser. It prevents cell mutation and facilitates Tcell function.
Pau d’Arco also has a long history in herbal medicine around the world. In South

activity. It increases the number of stem cells in the marrow and lymph tissue, and stimulates their

activity. Another study on an Astragalus-based Chinese remedy demonstrated the tendency to stimulate

“In 1973, more than 28 years ago, I discovered why the juice of Venus’ flytrap is such

When a fly or other small insect touches the delicate hairs of the plant’s mouth, it

and vegetable materials. Interestingly, they do not digest the plant itself. From this

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)
Feverfew, a member of the sunflower family, has been used for centuries in European
folk medicine as a remedy for headaches, arthritis, and fevers. The term feverfew is
adapted from the Latin word febrifugia or "fever reducer."
Feverfew products usually consist of dried feverfew leaves, but all parts of the plant
that grow above ground may also be used for medicinal purposes. The migrainerelieving activity of feverfew is believed to be due to parthenolide, an active
compound that helps relieve smooth muscle spasms. In particular, it helps prevent the
constriction of blood vessels in the brain (one of the leading causes of migraine
headaches). Parthenolide also inhibits the actions of compounds that cause
inflammation and may inhibit cancer cell growth. Parthenolide has also been found
recently in 2005 to induce cell death in leukemia cancer stem cells.
Herbal medicine has an impressive track record in treating migraines and chronic headaches. Feverfew treats
the cause of the headaches rather than simply the pain. Both the British Medical Journal and the Harvard
Medical School Health Letter have paid tribute to the success of feverfew in relieving migraines.
Clinical tests have shown the use of feverfew may reduce the frequency and severity of headaches. It may be
more effective than other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDS), like aspirin. It is the combination of
ingredients in the feverfew plant that brings such effective relief. It works to inhibit the release of two
inflammatory substances, serotonin and prostaglandins, both believed to contribute to the onset of migraines.
By inhibiting these amines as well as the production of the chemical histamine, the herb controls inflammation
that constricts the blood vessels in the head and prevents blood vessel spasms which may contribute to
headaches.
In several studies, both the frequency and the severity of migraines were reduced among study participants
who took feverfew daily as a preventive measure. However, active migraine headaches were not relieved by
taking feverfew. Feverfew should be taken regularly to receive maximum benefit and protection from
migraines.
Feverfew has also been used for relieving the pain and inflammation of arthritis. It is known that chemicals in
feverfew may reduce the body's production of substances that initiate and prolong inflammation, which is the
body's response to irritation, injury, or infection. Inflammation usually includes pain, redness, and swelling in
the area of the damage, and it can occur within body tissues as well as on the surface of the skin. Chemicals in
feverfew are thought to prevent blood components called platelets from releasing inflammatory substances.
Feverfew may also reduce the body's production of prostaglandins, hormone-like substances made in the body
and may be involved in regulating a number of body functions including blood pressure, blood vessel tone, and
temperature, as well as inflammation. All of these effects could help relieve fever, arthritis, and migraines.
Suggested dosage: 15-20 drops three times per day in pure water or tea.

TRIBAL AND HERBAL MEDICINE USES
In South America Suma is known as para toda (which means "for all things") and as Brazilian
ginseng, as it is widely used as an adaptogen with many applications (much as "regular"
ginseng). The indigenous peoples of the Amazon region who named it para toda have used
Suma root for generations for a wide variety of health purposes, including as a general tonic; as an energy, rejuvenating,

Ginloba
The ginkgo is the oldest living tree species; geological records indicate this plant has
been growing on earth for 150-200 million years. Chinese monks are credited with
keeping the tree in existence, as a sacred herb. It was first brought to Europe in the
1700’s and it is now a commonly prescribed drug in France and Germany. It is one of
the most, well-researched herbs in the world. Today ginkgo biloba is perhaps the most
widely used herbal treatment aimed at augmenting cognitive functions, that is:
improving memory, learning, alertness, mood, and so on. Ginkgo works by increasing
blood flow to the brain and throughout the body’s network of blood vessels that supply
blood and oxygen to the organ systems. It increases metabolism efficiency, regulates
neurotransmitters, and boosts oxygen levels in the brain which uses 20% of the body’s
oxygen. Ginkgo has been used to relieve tension and anxiety and improve mental
alertness, elevate mood and restore energy. Studies have confirmed that ginkgo
increases blood flow to the retina, and can slow retinal deterioration resulting in an
increase of visual acuity. In clinical tests ginkgo has improved hearing loss in the elderly. It also improves

Bioflavonoids have long been considered great antioxidants and specific for protecting the microcirculation in
small blood vessels. The bioflavonoids in ginkgo are no exception. They have a strong capability to protect and

have a stronger biological activity than most other bioflavonoids, and seems to have a specific affinity for the
capillary beds of the brain.
Brain Function Effects - The brain is one of the hungriest organs of our body. For proper function, it needs to be

dementia. Scientific literature overall does suggest that ginkgo (120 to 240 milligrams daily) benefits people
with early stage Alzheimer’s disease and multi-infarct dementia. Multiple clinical trials have evaluated ginkgo
for a syndrome called “cerebral insufficiency.” This condition, more commonly diagnosed in Europe than in the
United States, may include poor concentration, confusion, absent-mindedness, decreased physical
performance, fatigue, headache, dizziness, depression, and anxiety. It is believed that cerebral insufficiency is
caused by decreased blood flow to the brain due to clogged blood vessels. Some research reports benefits of
ginkgo in patients with these symptoms.
The standard dosage is 12-15 drops in water or juice, three times daily in between meals.

Cat's claw has grown quite popular in the natural products industry and is mostly taken today to

The Asháninka Indian tribe in central Peru has the longest recorded history of use of the plant. The Asháninka use cat's
claw to treat asthma, inflammations of the urinary tract, arthritis, rheumatism, and bone pain; to recover from childbirth;
as a kidney cleanser; to cure deep wounds; to control inflammation and gastric ulcers; and for cancer. Indigenous tribes in
Piura use cat's claw to treat tumors, inflammations, rheumatism, and gastric ulcers. Other Peruvian indigenous tribes use
cat's claw to treat diabetes, urinary tract cancer in women, hemorrhages, menstrual irregularity, cirrhosis, fevers,
abscesses, gastritis, rheumatism, tumors, and inflammations as well as for internal cleansing and to "normalize the body."
Cat's claw has been used in Peru and Europe since the early 1990s as an adjunctive treatment for cancer and AIDS as well
as for other diseases that target the immune system. In herbal medicine today, cat's claw is employed around the world
for many different conditions, including immune disorders, gastritis, ulcers, cancer, arthritis, rheumatism, rheumatic
disorders, neuralgias, chronic inflammation of all kinds, and such viral diseases as herpes zoster (shingles). Dr. Brent Davis,
D.C. has written several articles on cat's claw and refers to it as the "opener of the way" for its ability to cleanse the entire

Another significant area of study has focused on cat's claw's anti-inflammatory properties. While plant sterols and
antioxidant chemicals found in cat's claw account for some of these properties, new and novel plant chemicals called
quinovic acid glycosides were documented to be the most potent anti-inflammatory constituents of the plant. This study
and subsequent ones indicated that cat's claw (and, especially, its glycosides) could inhibit inflammation from 46% up to
89% in various in vivo and in vitro tests. The results of these studies validated its long history of indigenous use for arthritis
and rheumatism, as well as for other types of inflammatory stomach and bowel disorders. It was also clinically shown to
be effective against stomach ulcers in an in vivo rat study.


Cat's claw has been clinically documented with immunostimulant effects and is contraindicated before or
following any organ or bone marrow transplant or skin graft.
Cat's claw has chemicals that can reduce platelet aggregation and thin the blood. Check with your doctor first if

Cayenne pepper extract
Many herbalists believe that Cayenne is the most useful and valuable herb in the herb kingdom, not
only for the entire digestive system, but also for the heart and circulatory system. It acts as a catalyst
and increases the effectiveness of other herbs when used with them.
Cayenne is a medicinal and nutritional herb. It is a very high source of Vitamins A and C, has the
complete B complexes, and is very rich in organic calcium and potassium, which is one of the reasons
it is good for the heart.
Cayenne can rebuild the tissue in the stomach and the peristaltic action in the intestines. It aids

Pau d’arco extract
Pau d'Arco bark has active principles, mainly lapachol, quercetin and other flavonoids. The dried
inner bark of Pau d'Arco can be used as a tea or a tincture which has a taste that is just a little bit
harsh, and a color that may remind you of sepia-toned photographs. Some claim that it is useful in
managing diabetes. It is also suggested that this plant is useful in treating other medical conditions,
amongst which are fibromyalgia (FMS) and lupus (SLE). This herb is used by many during the cold
and flu season, and is a remedy for smoker's cough. Another medicinal use of Pau d'Arco is as an
expectorant: to promote "coughing up" by the lungs in order to free mucus and contaminants that
had been lodged there.
Pau d'Arco tea or tincture concoctions have reportedly had beneficial effects for cancer patients,
anywhere from alleviation of chemotherapy symptoms to complete remission of tumors. According
to Dr. Daniel Mowrey, who has become somewhat famous in the area of Pau d'Arco supporters,
anti-cancer benefits can be had from Lapacho (the active compound), without any side effects being
noticed.
Other actions documented by traditional use of Pau d'Arco appear to show that it is a hepatotonic - something which
tones, balances and strengthens the liver. As it is also an immune-stimulant, its benefits will also strengthen the body's
immune system, which will in turn assist in preventing liver disease. It is also claimed that this taheebo may assist in
removing poisons from the liver tissue, along with simply promoting healthy liver function.
An added benefit to using Pau d'Arco is that, taken at its recommended dosage, it is claimed to have no adverse effects
upon the liver. Drug treatments for viruses, candida and cancer in many cases cause liver damage or liver disease, and
therefore Pau d'Arco treatment of other such ailments may prove beneficial in sustaining the liver's health.
Laboratory studies suggest that lapachol and other compounds from Pau d'Arco may have effects against cancer, as well as
other illnesses. Additionally, Pau d'Arco tea or tincture concoctions have had beneficial effects for cancer victims,
anywhere from alleviation of chemotherapy symptoms to complete remission of tumors. An article published by Dr. Daniel
B. Mowrey on Pau d'Arco stated that "who Lapacho has produced clinical anti-cancer effects without side effects."
Several researchers using wood of the Pau d'Arco plant studied the effects of lapachol, alpha-lapachone, beta-lapachone
and xyloidone on experimental-cancer, and observed as high as 84% inhibition on Yoshida's sarcoma. Of special note is
that no toxicity was found due to the use of the Pau d'Arco wood.
Contraindications of Pau d’ Arco:
Pau d'Arco might increase the risk of bleeding during as well as after a surgical procedure, and may decrease blood clotting
speed. Due to this, do not use this herb for a minimum period of two weeks prior to having surgery. Talk with a doctor for
more information, and tell him if you have been taking Pau d'Arco at all, even if it was prior to the two-week period before
the scheduled procedure. Additionally, ask him for details about when you can resume taking it after the surgery, if you
intend to do so.
Pau d'Arco has the potential to raise the risk of bleeding in people who have bleeding disorders. An example of such a
condition is hemophilia. If such a condition affects you, talk with your doctor before you begin using Pau d'Arco.
Pau d'Arco, when a person uses it internally, has the potential to strengthen the blood-thinning effects that are seen in
certain medications known as anticoagulants. Aspirin, enoxaparin, warfarin, and dalteparin are four such examples.

Prostata-100 (Nettle, Pygeum, Gravel Root, Uva Ursi, Horsetail, and Saw Palmetto) is a special

In Germany today Nettle is sold as an herbal drug for prostate diseases and as a diuretic. It is a

symptoms of BPH. Pygeum extracts have been used for more than 40 years in France, Germany and Austria for patients
suffering with prostate enlargement. The extracts of pygeum include beta-sitosterol, other plant estrogens, triterpenes,
and certain compounds known as ferulic acids. Studies of both good and poor quality have shown that pygeum decreases
BPH symptoms more than a placebo.
Gravel Root is a native North American perennial plant found in damp woodland and meadows in southern Canada and
from Maine to Florida and Texas. It is useful for kidney problems, urinary difficulties and gravel, dropsy, rheumatism and
neuralgia. Used primarily for kidney stones or gravel, it is also of benefit in the treatment of cystitis, dysuria and urethritis.
It is also used in pelvic inflammatory disease. It can play a useful role in a systemic treatment of rheumatism and gout as it
encourages excretion of excess uric acid. It tones the reproductive tract and is used to treat inflammation of the prostate,
spasmodic dysmenorrhoea with scanty menstruation and to ease childbirth.
Uva Ursi has been approved for treating inflammation of the lower urinary tract by Commission E of the German Federal
Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, which is the German governmental agency that evaluates the safety and
effectiveness of herbal products. An astringent shrinks and tightens the top layers of mucous membranes, thereby
reducing secretions, relieving irritation, and improving tissue firmness.
Horsetail Since being recommended by the Roman physician Galen, several cultures have employed horsetail as a folk

Black Haw (special formula)
Indications: Black Haw has a very similar use to Cramp Bark, to which it is closely related.
It is a powerful relaxant of the uterus and is used for dysmenorrhoea, false labor pains as
well as in threatened miscarriage. Its relaxant and sedative actions explain its power in
reducing blood pressure in hypertension, which happens through relaxation of the
peripheral blood vessels. It may be used as an anti-spasmodic in the treatment of asthma.
King's describes this herb in this way: "That it has a decided affinity for the female
reproductive organs is well established. Decoctions of the drug were formerly used as a
gargle in apthae, as a wash in indolent ulcers, and in various ophthalmic disorders. By its
astringency it has proved of value in diarrhoea and dysentery. It has been recommended
in jaundice, but we have a better agent in Chionanthus. Palpitation of the heart is said to
have been relieved by it. Its principal use at the present day is in disorders of the female organs of
reproduction. As a uterine tonic it is unquestionably of great utility.
In the hyperasthetic, or irritable condition of the uterus incident to highly nervous women, or as the result of
overwork, it will be found an admirable agent. In dysmenorrhoea, with deficient menses, uterine colic, and in
those cases where there are severe lumbar and bearing-down pains, it will prove an efficient drug. It is
specifically indicated in cramp-like menstrual pains, pains decidedly expulsive and intermittent in character and
in the various painful contractions of the pelvic muscles, so common to disorders of women. Uterine
congestion and chronic uterine inflammation are often greatly relieved by Black Haw. It acts promptly in
spasmodic dysmenorrhoea, especially with excessive flow.
Black Haw is a good remedy for uterine hemorrhage attending the menopause. In amenorrhoea in pale,
bloodless subjects, the menses are restored by it. Cramps of limbs attending pregnancy yield to both black haw
and cramp bark. It is considered almost specific for cramp in the legs, not dependent on pregnancy, especially
when occurring at night. The condition for which black haw is most valued is that of threatened abortion. It is
the most prompt drug in the materia medica to check abortion, provided the membranes have not ruptured. In
all cases of habitual abortion it should be given in small doses for a considerable length of time. The abundant
testimony as to its value in this condition alone gives it a high place among drugs. By its quieting effects upon
the irritable womb, women who have previously been unable to go to full term have been aided by this drug to
pass through the pregnancy without mishaps which would otherwise have proven disastrous to both child and
mother. It has been used to control postpartum hemorrhage, but is less effective than ergot and cinnamon. It
assists in reducing the size of the womb in subinvolution of that organ. Viburnum is of some value innervous
disorders, and has been advised in chorea, hysteria, hystero-epilepsy, petit mal, and paralysis agitans. It is of
service only when these troubles are associated with menstrual wrongs. Viburnum opulus resembles this agent
very closely in its effects, and may be used in the above-named conditions, for which the black haw is useful."

KS-10M is a product for the libido. It contains Yohimbe, Passion flower and essence
of Cinnamon.
Yohimbe's energizing effects stem from its ability to increase blood flow to the
genitals. It is thought to stimulate the pelvic nerve ganglia and thus is helpful for men
with erection problems. Effects can include libido, increased sensation and increased
stamina. Women have also reported similar effects and general pleasant sensations.
Yohimbe bark contains about 6% yohimbine. This constituent is an indole alkaloid
that is classified as an alpha-2-adrenergic blocking agent. The herb has a general
nervous system stimulatory effect and can cause changes in blood pressure by
dilating blood vessels. It can increase heart rate, raise body temperature and
increase blood pressure.
Passion flower is a relaxant to the nervous system important in the treatments of anxiety, tension, insomnia,

lower blood pressure. In some countries it is used to treat children with hyperactivity.
And considering that Cinnamon is probably one of the most aromatic of the spices, it is surprising how few

in cinnamon is a type of phenol which is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.
