Recent enhancements to Bilcare’s
US operation include 26 state-ofthe-art packaging rooms, new filling
equipment, an upgraded large-scale
bottling line, and tripling the size of
its ambient storage capacity. Capital
improvements to the Wales facility include expanded cold chain and controlled drug storage, and expansion
to 13 primary and secondary packaging rooms. Its latest investment
includes new Pentapack blistering
technology in America and Europe.
Bilcare’s facility in India is expanding
its primary and secondary packaging and storage capacity.

equipment.
Products and services
The new “Xcelodose (R) S” system creates clinical-trial batches
in precisely dispensed amounts
as low as 100 µg. With Xcelodose, capsules can be filled with
drug substances alone, thus
eliminating the need for excipient
compatibility and preformulation activities. Capsugel supports
clinical development with the “CFS
1200” capsule liquid-filling and
sealing benchtop machine for R&D
labs as well as 100- and 300-hole
benchtop fillers. Products include
two piece capsules in gelatin, pullulan, and HPMC, “Licaps” liquid
capsules, softgels,“PCcaps” for
preclinical animal studies and
“DBcaps” for double blind comparator trials.
