De Luca Derenusson helps French construction services company enter Brazil Friday, 1 May 2015 (3 days ago) by Thomas Muskett-Ford De Luca, Derenusson, Schuttoff e Azevedo Advogados has helped French rental equipment company Loxam enter Latin America by acquiring a minority stake in Brazilian counterpart Degraus Andaimes. It is thought that Pinheiro Bittencourt Advogados advised Degraus Andaimes for the sale, but this could not be confirmed prior to publication. The deal gives Loxam, which supplies equipment to the construction sector, a 25 per cent stake in the Brazilian company. Degraus Andaimes rents construction vehicles and equipment in the state of São Paulo and the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Salvador and Porto Alegre. The deal closed on 14 April. Brazil’s construction sector and related services is expected to undergo widespread consolidation as Brazil’s poor GDP growth curbs demand and major projects are put on hold amid wide-reaching anti-corruption investigations. Despite the current outlook, Loxam believes the sector will rebound in the long-term and plans to expand local operations by 2020. The Brazilian market is also becoming an increasingly attractive prospect for foreign acquisitions as the real’s value falls. Counsel to Loxam De Luca, Derenusson, Schuttoff e Azevedo Advogados Partners João Claudio De Luca Junior and Guilherme Filardi, and associates Rodrigo Kencis, Willi Künzli, Ettore Botteselli and Stefania Martignago
