Instructor: Dr. Mansour Nawasreh
Office hours: all days (10-11) except Wednesday.
Time: Sun (2-5 PM) and Mon. (11-2)
Course no. : 315504223
Course Description: This course is a requirement for the chemical engineering
students, which is formed from ten experiments. It is designed to make the student to
be familiarized with techniques commonly used in the organic laboratories for
identification, purification and separation of organic compounds in addition to a
single step synthesis of certain chemical compound. Also, a classification tests of
some functional groups like aldehydes and ketones alcohols, aldehydes carboxylic
acids and their derivatives.
Course Objectives:
1. Studying the basic principles of organic experiments.
2. Knowing information about the techniques used in the lab.
3. Ability in writing reports.
4. Learning how to do chemical reaction and to purify the resulted product.
