The basis of this philosophy was established by the company founder Dr.
Eugen Dürrwächter. In 1922 he started
DODUCO as a precious metal refining
company for gold, silver and platinum
materials for the reclamation and re-use
in jewelry making in Pforzheim, the
jewelry center of Germany. The development of improved processing allowed
the jewelry industry to introduce many
new products to their market.
Soon after Dr. Dürrwächter realized that
the growing electrical industry provided
a new market opportunity for related
materials. DODUCO engaged very early
in the manufacturing of precious metal
electrical contacts and their alloys and in
1932 established a dedicated factory for
contact manufacturing. By investing in
new technologies and based on the
innovation driven spirit of its employees
DODUCO developed over the years into
a technology company and a world
leader in electrical contact manufacturing. Today DODUCO is an internationally operating company with approximately 1.300 employees worldwide.

For over 70 years our world has centered on precious metals and the conduction of electrical energy. We conduct
basic research, development in the
areas of new materials manufacturing
and processing technologies involved in

Competency in Electrical Contacts
The properties of the contact material
are the deciding factors for the reliable
function of the contact spots in any
electromechanical device. From a broad
range of contact materials we develop
and manufacture semi-finished products
and contact parts, which are optimized
towards the application in electromechanical switching devices and electronic
components. Using the most environmentally friendly composite materials and
alloys, such as for example Silver-Tin
Oxide, is of increasing importance.

Production Competency
in Stamping Technology
The Full
DODUCO manufactures precision
stamped parts incorporating electrical
contact functions. These can be welded,
brazed, riveted, coated by electroplating, clad or mechanically mounted
and assembled. Depending on our
customer's requirements we supply
these products as individual parts, prestamped strips, in comb segments or
blister packaged.
Welded Stamped Parts
The contacts are attached by resistance
welding from wire, profiles or by feeding
of single contacts. Depending on the
application, Gold, Silver or Palladium
based contact materials are used.
Riveted Stamped Parts
Utilizing composite Bi- or Tri-metal rivets
manufactured at our facility in Spain

RANGE OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
Progressive die with assembling of springs
allows to keep the usage of precious
metal at the absolute minimum required
for reliable switching functions.
During wire-staking – the forming of rivet
shaped contacts in a progressive die –
the contact rivet is produced without
additional costs and allows significantly
higher production speeds.
Stamped Parts from Semi-finished
Contact Materials
Stamped contact parts made from semifinished strip material are economically
manufactured endlessly and at high
production rates.
The contact materials made in our mill
operations are based on Gold, Palladium
and Silver. Aluminum is used as a
bondable surface layer.
Sub-assembled Stamped Parts
In a progressive die the attachment of
stamping frames to each other is
performed by forming and riveting or by
welding. This way the different properties
of the individual components can be
combined in the assembled stamped
part. Such as, for example, high electrical conductivity with exceptional spring
properties.

In Europe DODUCO develops and
manufactures electromechanical components of varying complexity; if requested, even electronic components can be
incorporated, greatly expanding their
