It uses an all tube circuitry including a tube rectifier. Two 12AX7/ECC83 tubes are used as preamp buffer drivers. The output uses a Class A single-ended 6L6 design with cathode bias for each channel. This design allows the use of many of the octal base output tubes including the 6V6, 6L6, 5881, 6550 and EL34. It will give crystal clear tones and will faithfully reproduce what you put into it. SPECIFICATIONS: RMS POWER – 6L6 12 watts per channel Output Impedance: Selectable 4Ω, 8Ω, or 16Ω each channel Channel Sensitivity: 1.0 Vrms for full output (full volume per channel) Preamp Tubes: 2 – 12AX7 (input driver/buffer) Power Amp Tubes: 2 – 6L6 (1 per channel) USA Model: 120VAC, 300VA, Export Model: 230VAC, 300VA Control Panel Dimensions: 3.5" High x 19" Wide (2 rack spaces) Vent Panel Dimensions: 3.5" High x 19" Wide (2 rack spaces) Chassis Dimensions: 17” Wide x 10” Deep X 2” High Cabinet Dimensions: 21” Wide x 13” Deep x 9” High Net Weight: 30 lbs Price: $ 1095.00 2011 Copyright by Frenzel Tube Amplifiers. Laser Etched Faceplate Classic Chicken Head Knobs, Toggle Switches and Jewel Pilot Light DC on filaments for low 60 hz hum. Star ground system to reduce induced current chassis noise. Input Level Controls for each channel Classic Type 5F6A Style Presence control. Unique NNFB "Edge" switch on the PRESENCE control that transforms the power amp section into a NoNegative-Feedback style amp for more open, less compressed tones. Post output transformer LINE OUT with LINE OUT LEVEL control for driving a higher power amp, or for using this amp as a tube preamp/overdrive or recording, Auto switching internal load if speaker is not connected to give you loaded output distortion. IEC detachable plug-in three prong grounded power cord. STANDBY switch to turn off the plate voltage during warm-up. Rock solid point-to-point hand wiring using only the best of parts...low noise tubular polypropylenes caps, metal film resistors, ceramic sockets, switchcraft jacks...etc. Tube compliment: The amp comes with 2 - 12AX7, 2 – 6L6, 1 - 5U4, but you can substitute 12AT7's or 12AU7's in the preamp/driver for different tones and overdrive sounds. You can also substitute 6V6, 5881's, KT66's, KT88's, 6550's, or EL34's in the output stage for different sounds. LEVEL- Controls the amount of signal sent to the power amp from the driving preamp. Sets the output level of the amp. Start with this control all the way down. Make sure the preamplifier is connected and turned on and it’s output level turned up. Bring the amplifier volume upto the desired loudness. You will need to experiment to get the correct volume balance between the preamplifier output and the amplifier output level. Ideally the amplifier LEVEL should be turned up at least one half with the knob indicator lines running vertical. PRESENCE – boosts the high frequency range and gives the amp more bright punch. Set at ½ for initial setting. (Please note that a slight scratchy noise is normal as the Presence control is adjusted. This is caused by the DC cathode current running through the contacts. It only occurs when the control is adjusted and does not affect the operation of the amp.) EDGE PULL SWITCH (part of Presence control) – when pulled out turns off the negative feedback in the amp which produces a boost in the volume and a more dynamic less compressed tone. POWER SWITCH – turns power ON to filaments of tubes. Pilot lamp will light up when switch is turned to ON (up) position. STANDBY SWITCH – turns ON high voltage to tubes. Allow tubes to warm up 1-2 minutes before turning to ON (up) position. This protects tubes and lengthens tube life. Turn to OFF position(down) when amp temporarily not in use. PILOT LAMP – lights up when Power switch is turned on. REAR PANEL CONTROLS: 2011 Copyright by Frenzel Tube Amplifiers. All rights reserved. Set the switch to match the impedance of the speaker. SPEAKER JACK – a 1/4" unbalanced jack connects output of amp to speaker. LINE OUT JACK - is a post output transformer 1/4" unbalanced jack LINE OUT jack. Works with LINE OUT LEVEL control on Front Panel. Can be used for driving another amp, mixer , recorder etc. It can be used without a speaker plugged into the amp. There is an internal load connected by a switch on the speaker jack if a speaker is not plugged in. This internal load simulates the speaker and will give you loaded clean and output distortion tones. CHANNEL INPUT JACK – a 1/4" unbalanced jack is used to connect the signal to each of the amplifiers channels. Plug output of preamp into this jack. Power Section FUSE - protects the power supply. Use a 3 amp SLO-BLO type fuse. POWER CORD – a detachable power cord connects power to the amp. Make sure that the cord is fully seated in the connector. The power cord is a three prong grounded cord. Always plug into a grounded outlet to prevent electrical shock. The line voltage is shown over the power cord bushing. Be sure that the voltage matches your line voltage.
