A new generation of digital turbine
controllers guarantee safe, reliable
and economic power plant operation
• Easy handling and clear indications at
the HMI-display are the most significant
features of the new digital turbine governors
DTC 300.
• Remote control and fault analysis grant
a reliable operation in unmanned
power stations.
• Remote servicing enables the technicians
of Kössler to investigate and eliminate faults
as well as doing revisions in programming
according specific client needs, fast and
economically directly out from the office.
• The new controllers are equipped with
several standardized interfaces and
therefore can be implemented easily into
an overall power plant control system.

Functions for automatic start up and paralleled operation
Speed control: 1)
The speed governor accelerates the turbine along a
parameterable ramp up to nominal speed and then
controls the rotary frequency of the set during
synchronizing according the commands of an
automatic synchronizer or manual up- / down
commands.
Opening control: 1)
Remote control: The opening governor
controls the position of the wicket gate or
the nozzles according the setpoint given
from the power plant control system.
Local control: The DTC 300 controls the
position of the wicket gate or the nozzles
according the default setpoint at the HMI
operator panel.
Head water level control: 1)
The water level at the head pond is controlled.
The actual water level value is evaluated by
means of a level probe. The nominal water
level setpoint can be set on the HMI operator
panel or from the power plant control system.
Flow control: 2)
The water flow in the penstock is
controlled. The actual water flow
value is evaluated by means of a flow
meter 3). The nominal water flow
setpoint can be set on the HMI
operator panel or from the power
plant control system.
Power control: 2)
The generator output power is controlled.
The actual power value is evaluated by means
of a transducer 3) or taken over from common control
system. The nominal power setpoint can be
set on the HMI operator panel or from the power plant
control system.
