Panamax Max® EX Component Line Named as Finalist
for 2006 RESI Awards at CEDIA 2006
PETALUMA, Calif. — Aug. 31, 2006 — Panamax, the leading manufacturer of power
management products, today announced that its Max® EX component family of home
theater power conditioners, including the M5500-EX, M5400-EX, M5300-EX, M5100-EX,
and M4300-EX, has been nominated for a 2006 RESI Award. The RESI committee was
impressed by the power conditioners’ ability to provide comprehensive filtering, improved
picture and sound quality, and protection against surges for home theater applications.
“After the great deal of work our engineers and outside collaborators put into designing
these conditioners, it’s an honor that RESI has nominated these products,” said Bob
Smith, vice president of Panamax. “We’ve worked diligently to ensure the systems
maintain the highest quality of protection, even in the case of dangerous power surges.”
All EX products feature LED voltmeters, with the M5400-EX and M5500-EX featuring a
digital ammeter as well. Panamax’s patent-pending Automatic Voltage Circuitry (AVM)
continuously monitors the incoming power displayed on the LED voltmeter, keeping an
eye out for unsafe voltage conditions such as prolonged over and under voltages. A red
lightning bolt below the voltmeter flashes to indicate an under- or over-voltage condition,
alerting the user to a power problem. Power status indicator lights also visually indicate
the status of the power supply.
All monitors in the EX family feature high-current outlets, allowing amplifiers and
powered subwoofers to reach their full potential, providing clean, filtered power to
amplifiers with no current-limiting components to impede performance. In addition, if the

AVM on an EX product senses unsafe power, it automatically disconnects the equipment
to prevent it from damage.
All members of the EX product line feature Panamax’s Protect or Disconnect™ circuitry,
safeguarding equipment from catastrophic surges (such as lightning) by disconnecting
the AC power to the connected equipment. Each EX product comes standard with a 10foot detachable shielded power cord. Most are rack-mountable, with optional rack-mount
kits available for the M5100-EX and M4300-EX.
Prices for the EX line range from $249.95 to $999.95. For more information about the EX
line or other Panamax products, visit www.panamax.com.
Panamax will be exhibiting at CEDIA 2006, booth number 260.
