HOTSHOT Free-Front with remote heat station
HOTSHOT RF power supplies
provide a compact alternative for
heating parts that require a quick,
clean source of heat.
Two models are available:
• 2 kW HOTSHOT: ideal for
quick, non-contact heating of
your parts, supplied with a
convenient remote heat
station, located up to ten feet
from the power supply
• 1kW HOTSHOT: available with
either a remote heat station or
an integrated, front panel heat
station
• Remote models also available

with Free-Front configuration,
with all utilities co-located at
the back
For maximum flexibility in heating
parts of different sizes and
composition, both models operate
over a 150 to 400 kHz frequency
range with excellent power control
to under 10W resolution.
The heating process is quick and
clean; the part or material to be
heated is placed inside an
induction-heating coil made of
copper tubing. The design of the
heating coil and size of the remote
heat station depend on the
characteristics of the part being
heated.
The
Ameritherm
Applications Lab will assist you in
determining the optimum coil
design and heat station for your
application.
After the part is placed in the coil, it
generally requires only seconds to
achieve the target temperature
without flame or gaseous exhaust.
Power is controlled and monitored
with the convenient front panel
LCD and sealed touchpad. The
length of the heating cycle can be
easily controlled with a built-in
digital timer, which can be set from
10 milliseconds up to 10,000
seconds (2 hours, 46 minutes).
Excess heat is removed by a builtin water-cooling system, which
connects to a heat exchanger or
chiller for dissipating heat.
With a rack-mountable 17" x 13"
footprint, 5.25" (3U) height and
weight of just 25 lbs., the
HOTSHOT is a truly portable heat
source for soldering, brazing,
bonding, curing, catheter tipping,
melting precious metals and for
many other applications.
While
normally
used
with
electrically conductive materials,
the HOTSHOT can also be used to
heat plastics and other nonconductive materials by utilizing a
conductive metal susceptor for
heat transfer.

the front. Also simplifies utilities routing for
rack-mounted units.

The standard remote heat station (shown at front above) measures 4” W
x 8” D x 4” H”, weights just 8 lbs. and handles most HOTSHOT heating
applications. Some applications may require the extended remote heat
station (shown behind standard model) which measures 4” W x 10.5” D
x 4” H and weighs 10 lbs.
