BOW Industries Incorporated, the foremost pioneer in manual hard drive destroyers, now introduces the Model MX2 Motor
& Manual Operated Hard Drive Destroyer. The MX2, while motor driven still includes the manual crank feature found on all
BOW’s hard drive destroyers, allowing the operator full time operation whether electrical power is available or not.

The MX2 unit enables the operator to operate the unit hands free. Simply insert the hard drive and the sensors tell the
destroyer to go. The MX2 allows for destruction every 10 seconds. If the power is ever interrupted then the operator has the
manual operated crank to continue. No interruption or setup. You simply grasp the crank handle and continue. A feature
none of the competition can boast.
The BOW Industries Model MX2 Manual Hard Drive Destroyer is designed for the destruction of all standard hard drives.
Specifically designed for emergency situations where electric power may not be available and quick destruction is a must,
the MX2's low cost and versatility makes it perfect for both the government and commercial market where a tight budget is
an important consideration.
This small heavy-duty destroyer is maintenance free and completely self-contained. There are no messy fluids or external
components to deal with and no adjustments or calibration necessary.
_______________________________________________________
In today's world, with the threat of identity theft and the war on terrorism still raging on, it is important to keep in mind that
information must be kept secure and out of the wrong hands.
In commercial applications the MX2 is an inexpensive alternative to other expensive power destroyers, shredders and
degaussers.
In typical national security operation, a destroyer would be used in conjunction with a degausser (media eraser). However in
emergency situations this may not be possible. In this case destruction by rapid and reliable means to insure that the
information is irretrievable is top priority. If the power goes out...if the plane must land in enemy territory...if the embassy is
under siege.... all of these and other emergency situations may require the immediate destruction of stored information. It is
for these situations that the MX2 is perfectly suited.
Government specifications require that in an emergency situation a hard drive needs to be destroyed so that a person or
persons cannot spin the drive. This must be able to be done quickly and reliably. The MX2 meets this requirement. It takes
less than 10 seconds to destroy each hard drive. You need only to insert the proper drive height adapter (if applicable),
insert the hard drive into the slot. The internal workings of the unit will begin to press down on the drive, bending it
approximately 90 degrees. Then the MX2 pushes the destroyed hard drive out for easy removal. To keep the speed at an
optimum, the MX2 resets automatically. The bend will render the hard drive useless by bending the platters, damaging the
heads, motor and circuit board.
A manual ratcheting feature is also included that makes it even easier to destroy unusually hard to break hard drives or if a
