T-JET CHASSIS BUILD – #1a
ARMATURE
AURORA Stock Thunderjet, Model Motoring , or Dash 16 ohm armatures, only. All armatures shall be of copper clad, two-lamination design,
with a resistance reading at each pole to be not less than 16.000 ohms.
AXLES
BALLAST
BRUSHES, MOTOR
Any axle is permitted. Axles must ride in appropriate stock location for given body style.
CHASSIS
All cars in this build shall use T-Jet styled copper clad chassis. Chassis’ may have any and all of the following: de-burring, clearancing, polishing,
hardening and/or blueprinting. None of these treatments shall cause the chassis to weigh less than original. A slight chassis rake is permitted
when the rake is the result of undersized front tires, or larger than stock rear tires. The top plate shall not be altered or cut or drilled. Top plate
rails may be shaved or removed to a maximum of flush with the main top plate, forward of a line drawn transversely through the armature
shaft center. Chassis base shall not be cut drilled or modified in any way. Top Plate must be of same manufacture as the base.
GEARS
Original T jet 9 tooth final pinions only, are permitted. All flat ("pancake") gears shall be brass and similar and equal to Aurora T Jet Gears. Any
crown gear may be used, 15 or 19 tooth only. Gears may be polished and blueprinted, but not excessively. Billet gears, Lightweight CNC gears,
beveled gears and the like are prohibited.
MAGNETS, MOTOR
Original AURORA Thunderjet, Model Motoring, or Dash ceramic magnets only. Use of Johnny Lightning, Autoworld, Aurora Wild ones and Tuff
ones, Aurora Super, II Aurora AFX, Aurora Screechers and/or any other magnet exceeding known and widely available magnet strengths and
materials as employed in the Original Aurora Thunderjets or Model Motoring series is prohibited. Magnets may be shimmed with non ferrous,
non magnetized material. Magnets may be glued in place. Magnet faces maybe sanded or trimmed.
MAGNETS, TRACTION
PICK-UPS
Traction magnets of any kind are not permitted.
WHEELIE BARS
Wheelie bars are not permitted. No attachment to body or chassis may extend in such a way as to contact the track surface in other than a
normal, Stock manufacture fashion.
GUIDE PIN
Only one guide-pin, in original location, is permitted. Guide-pin retaining screw is required, but pin may be secured additionally with glue, or
heat-bonded to chassis. Lengthened guide pins not recommended, as they bottom out the slot of a standard track.
TIRES/ WHEELS
Any slip-on made to fit stock Aurora or Dash T-jet wheels, diameter not to exceed that of .410" max.; width not to exceed depth of .100" max.
No double flanged wheels allowed.

Ballast (weight) may be used. Ballast shall not be visible outside body lines when car is viewed in its normal on-track attitude.
Brushes must fit in stock mounts. After-market brushes may be used. Brushes may be notched, filed, sanded or shaped. Spring brushes are not
permitted. Brush cups are not permitted.
Aftermarket Pick up shoes may be used. Design must be essentially T-Jet in function and form, but need not be exact copies of OEM. (ski shoes
and the like are permitted) Silver pickups are permitted. Braid pickups, or similar additions and/or modifications to stock type pickups are not
permitted. Shunt wires and braids are not permitted. Pickups may be re-arched, or re-profiled, but must be essentially of T Jet design and
function and must be of a ‘stepped’ configuration.
DASH chassis and DASH components may be used, DASH 2 lam arm allowed, DASH 3 lam illegal for this class
