5 - PROTECTION FEATURES
Under-Voltage(Brownout)
The UCP series provides protecUon circuitry such that an applicaUon of an input voltage below the minimum stated in
paragraph1(InputSpecificaUon)shallnotcausedamagetothedriver.
ShortCircuit
TheUCPseriesisprotectedagainstshort-circuitsuchthatashortfromanyoutputtoreturnshallnotresultinafirehazard
orshockhazard.Thedrivershallhiccupasaresultofashortcircuitorovercurrentfault.Removalofthefaultwillreturnthe
drivertowithinnormaloperaUon.Thedrivershallrecover,withnodamage,fromashortacrosstheoutputforanindefinite
periodofUme.
InternalOvertemperatureProtecEon
The UCP series incorporates circuitry that prevents internal damage due to an over temperature condiUon. An over
temperaturecondiUonmaybearesultofanexcessiveambienttemperatureorasaresultofaninternalfailure.Whenthe
overtemperaturecondiUonisremoved,thedrivershallautomaUcallyrecover.

regulatestheoutputcurrentbasedupontheconducUonangle(seefigure2).TheRMSvalueofthedriveroutputcurrentis
proporUonaltotheon-UmeoftheACinputvoltage.WhenoperaUngwithanincandescentdimmer,theRMSoutputcurrent
varies depending upon the conducUon angle and RMS value of the applied AC input voltage. Figure 2 shows the typical
outputcurrentversusconducUonangleatnominalinputvoltage.
