Family, Career and Community Leaders of America 2015-2016 Leadership Training Team Scott DesLauriers Scott DesLauriers is a junior attending South Dakota State University. He is majoring in Secondary Education with content areas in Speech Communications, Mass Communications, and Family and Consumer Sciences. His long-term goal is to found a non-profit that develops charter schools in developing countries. Scott’s involvement with FCCLA began in the eighth grade and his appreciation for the organization has been continually deepened since. He interned at FCCLA National Headquarters as the Leadership Development Intern in the summer of 2013. Outside of school and FCCLA, Scott enjoys golfing, photography, spending time at the lake, and traveling. As a member of the LTT, Scott is honored by the opportunity to give back to an organization that has provided so much for him and looks forward to meeting extraordinary FCCLA youth leaders across the nation. Scott constantly is reminded that FCCLA’s central focus is the family because, as he believes, we are one. South Dakota National Membership Network Nicole Gwishiri @sldeslauriers [email protected] Nicole Gwishiri is a high school Family and Consumer Sciences educator from North Carolina. She has been invloved with FCCLA since her first year of high school and is ecstatic to be an adviser, as well as serve as a Leadership Training Team member. One of her fondest memories of FCCLA while in high school was competing in STAR Events each year with classmates. She learned a lot about herself, her community, and her interests for her career and future. Nicole also coaches high school track and field and is pursuing a master's degree in Agricultural Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. When Nicole isn't coaching state champions, at an FCCLA meeting, or studying, she is enjoying time with family and friends, shopping, or catching up on sleep! Nicole hopes this experience will be an inspiration to her students to do great things within the organization and strives to have a great impact on the leaders of FCCLA. Carson Petrea Carson Petrea hails from Selah, Washington, and is in his first year at Johnson & Wales University pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sports/Events/Entertainment Management with minors in Adventure Sport and Nature Based Tourism and Beverage Service Management. He is a member of the Johnson & Wales Theta Delta Chi Executive Board, the National Student Organization club, and the Ski and Snowboard club. Carson started his FCCLA Journey in high school and served on the Washington State Executive Board as State President, Director of Programs, and Vice President of Region 7. He competed in the Job Interview STAR Event and FACS Knowledge Bowl, in which his team placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. In his free time, Carson enjoys snowboarding, skeet shooting, fishing and camping. He is excited to be a part of the LTT to further gain leadership experience as well as to educate members and inspire them much like the LTT members did for him.
