The World’s Premier Dame Shirley Bassey Tribute” says the Telegraph. But Carolyn Rowe is
much more than this.
Her tumultuous career culminated in her triumphant debut in the West End of London, the
theatre capital of the world, performing “Dame Shirley Bassey A Musical Celebration”.
Miss Rowe is the only artist to lay claim to such an honour.
This Sold out performance was critically acclaimed by the press, but more importantly by the
die- hard Bassey fans who erupted in applause as she delivered every song as if it were the
finale. Her performance with each dramatic gesture is the perfect measure of parody and just
the right amount of pathos. She regularly wows theatres with this show and in 2014
Miss Rowe was invited by Pat Egan, Dame Shirley Bassey’s Eire theatre promoter to perform
her Irish debut, for a sold out audience at the National Concert Hall Dublin, under the musical
direction of Michael Alexander and his orchestra. Dame Shirley Bassey herself trod the
boards of this 1200 seater concert hall and Miss Rowe was privileged to follow in her
footsteps
Miss Rowe also works exclusively in top end corporate entertainment and was the first in the
market to harness Bassey and Bond together performing in her Bassey Sings Bond show for
product launches and themed events. Carolyn performed Goldfinger for the Sotheby’s’
televised auction of the original James bond Aston Martin Car, as well as the televised Avon
launch of their then new perfume Bond.
Carolyn Rowe has performed on primetime TV and counts ITV Loose Women and Lorraine
Kelly amongst her prolific credits. Her passionate interview for the BBC reflecting her
portrayal of Bassey was a star feature for “Happy Birthday Shirley”.
A consummate actress, Carolyn is feted for those copied ubiquitous iconic gowns as she
enthrals audiences with the blend of nostalgia and raunchiness that is, Dame Shirley Bassey.
