HEALTHY LIVING CHOICES
Knowledge is very important, Hosea 4:6
One very important rule to follow in regards to health is to find out what you are
actually eating. Also, reading the ingredient label of most food products is a good
start. A general rule of thumb is if you see ingredients that you are not familiar
with, “don’t eat it”, especially ingredients that sound like they came from a
chemical lab, for example:
INGREDIENTS AND FOODS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOU
Propylene Glycol – akin to anti-freeze (found mostly in commercial ice-cream)
Soybean oil and meal and grains – soybeans interfere with the absorption of other
nutrients and can cause gastro-intestinal distress. Soybeans are also usually GMO.
You can use “Naturally brewed” organic, non-GMO soy sauce, which means it’s
been fermented (fermented for 2 yrs. or more), but even at that, use sparingly, as
it’s very high estrogenic.
MSG – an addictive preservative that makes one want to eat more and more,
destroys neurotransmitters in the brain, creates conditions that encourage obesity,
diabetes and it is a contributing factor in cancer, as well as many other problems.
Note: Companies often times will hide MSG in words like; natural flavors, yeast
extract, spices, monosodium glutamate, monopotassium glutamate, hydrolyzed
protein, calcium caseinate, yeast food, gelatin, yeast nutrient, glutamic acid,
sodium caseinate, hydrolyzed corn gluten, textured protein, autolyzed yeast….read
your labels! Almost all fast foods will have MSG in it, especially oriental foods.
Refined sugars, such as, but not limited to: white sugar, brown sugar, fructose,
sucrose, corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, etc. – destroys your immune system and
teeth, encourages obesity, hyperactivity and inability to focus, highly addictive,
breeding grounds for diabetes.
ALTERNATIVES: use raw honey, date sugar,
stevia or maple syrup or fruits.
Aspartame/Nutra-sweet – these are sugar alternatives that are nothing more than
carcinogens (cancer causing)
Hydrogenated and Partially hydrogenated oils – nothing more than plastic…creates
plague in your arteries. ALTERNATIVES: use organic, raw, cold pressed
coconut oil or organic, cold pressed imported olive oil. (raw, cold pressed organic
coconut oil is great for helping you lose weight, olive oil is great for cooking with
and salad dressing, etc.)
Magnesium Stearate – usually added in the “other ingredient” list in capsuled

Pasteurized/homogenized milk, as pasteurization kills all the good
bacteria/enzymes and there is some research indicating that homogenization may
contribute to heart disease. ALTERNATIVE: Raw milk from grass fed only
cows, that are anti-biotic and hormone free, or organic. Raw goat milk is even
better, as it is easier to digest than cow milk. Just make sure that if the cow or goat
are fed any grains that the grains are non-GMO, or at least organic.
GMO foods and grains – GMO stands for genetically modified organism. This is

Mercury amalgram/silver fillings in your teeth – Please remove any mercury
amalgram/silver fillings that you may have in your teeth, as it is extremely

FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU
Try to drink raw milk, as milk bought from the grocery store has usually been
pasteurized, homogenized and fortified and it’s usually from cows that have been
given anti-biotic/hormones and the word is that they use formaldehyde to preserve
it. You can usually find raw milk at health food stores or organic dairies. Or
check out these sites for good eggs/dairy/meat in your area: www.eatwild.com and
www.localharvest.com . Try to make sure that the milk is organic or from grass
fed only cows, as you don’t want milk from cows fed GMO grains/feeds. Goat
milk is easier to digest than cow milk. Even buying organic milk is not good if
they ultra-pasteurize it and homogenize it.
Raw apple cider vinegar is great for your body, it helps balance your ph and it is
full of potassium health promoting enzymes. It becomes alkaline in your body
once ingested. You can buy it at most health food stores and a lot of grocery stores
that have a natural food section. Good brands are Bragg’s or Spectrum. Shake it
and pour a capful in a full glass of water, take as often as you want.
Eat the whole apple with the seeds, eat your apricots and crack open the pit and eat
the seed inside, same thing with plums. These seeds are high in B-17 and can be
eaten safely if you eat them with the fruit, we’ve done so. B-17 is a cancer
preventative.
Juicing is good for you, use organic vegetables/fruits. Good choices are
carrot/apple/beets/wheatgrass. By the way, wheatgrass has lots of B-17. Look for
a juicer that is low RPM so it doesn’t kill enzymes/nutrients. Look for one that
doesn’t have plastic augers. Good choices that I’ve found are:
Super Angel 5500 is a very good choice, a little spendy though, found at

The Norwalk juicer is good but very, very expensive.
The GreenStar is a decent choice.
All of these juicers can be found as a used item off e-bay at times.
Try to buy organically grown produce and food whenever possible. Being organic
should mean GMO free, but it’s good to have it say on the label that it’s non GMO.
Try to buy GMO free foods, grains, etc. for you and your family, as well as any of
your animals that you receive meat, eggs or dairy from.
Try to buy anti-biotic/hormone free, grass raised/finished meat. We buy our antibiotic/hormone free grass raised/finished meat direct from a local rancher that we
found off www.eatwild.com internet site for ranches and farms across the nation
that sell healthy meats, eggs, dairy, etc.
If you don’t make your own bread, try to find a bread that is organic, GMO free,
soybean free and without refined sugar and that’s made with sprouted grains. For
instance, Ezekial sprouted grain bread makes one of their breads without soybeans
in it (the one with a red label). It is usually found in most health food stores and
some grocery stores that carry natural/organic products.
Raw Hemp Seeds are very good for you, they contain GLA (gamma linolic
acid,.….hope I spelled that correctly) A Tablespoon a day per person is good.
They have to be kept in the fridge.
Bob’s Red Mill sells an aluminum free baking soda
Rumford sells an aluminum free and GMO free baking powder
Kamut grain or flour is an easily digested flour that has never been hybridized. It’s
good for you and more easily tolerated by people with wheat allergies.
Organic Chia seeds are rich in B-17 and boron. They are pretty good for you. We
soak 1 tsp. chia seeds to 8 oz. water per person per day. Leave it sit in the fridg.
overnight. The seeds get a gelatinous coating around them. In the morning, we
blend a quart of cold juice and lots of frozen raspberries or blackberries and the
chia/water mixture all together and you’ve got yourself one healthy, tasty smoothie!
Try to buy eggs that are anti-biotic/hormone free. Preferably free range and if they
are fed grains, ask if they are organic or non GMO. Best to find a farmer with
chickens. You can tell a good free range egg by the color of the yolk….it will be a
pale yellow anemic color if they are not free range…..it will be a dark orange color
if they are free range. Check out these sites for good local healthy eggs,

or farmers market in your area.
Good supplements for people are:
Digitata kelp and/or dulse found at www.theseaweedman.com We use the digitata
kelp in soups, or we make a tea out of it by simmering it, covered in the water for
about 1 hour, The heat in slow cooking releases sodium alginate which takes toxins
out of the body and it has a healthy naturally high iodine content to naturally feed
your thyroid. The dulse can be eaten raw and is also good for you.
Celtic Sea Salt Gourmet Seaweed Seasoning is a great natural source of iodine.

You can buy raw fermented kim chi or sauerkraut at most large health food stores
or you can make your own, it’s a good way to receive lots of enzymes naturally.
Urban Moonshine sells organic bitters – bitters are very good for you, they help
digest your food, help your liver and gallbladder. Found at some health food stores.
Green Pasture’s sells Fermented Cod Liver Oil and X-factor gold High Vitamin
Butter Oil – the cod liver oil supplies vitamin D and vitamin A and the butter oil

If you drink raw goat milk (easier to digest than cow milk) or eat a good plain
yogurt with live cultures added, (one that’s organic, made from whole milk, not
homogenized or any added sugar or dry milk powder, which has the same risks as
homogenization), you’ll get plenty of acidophilus, but if you are on anti-biotics, or
have been on them recently, you probably need more probiotics…(by the way,
“pro”-biotic means; for life, whereas “anti”-biotic means; against life). The best
natural source of pro-biotics you can get is from kefir made yourself from organic
raw milk live kefir grains…..when you get them shipped in to you, just make kefir
with raw milk….if you want instructions on this, let me know, I’ll e-mail them to
you, it’s really easy. You do not have to keep buying more kefir grains, as they are
used over and over every day as you make new batches and they also multiply.
Also, I have a source where to ship them in from, if interested, let me know and I’ll
dig up the info. Otherwise, if you have to buy probiotics, you can get them from a
health food store or natural food co op in the refrigerated section. Best if kept in
the fridge.
Try to buy unsalted organic butter (iodized processed table salt is actually toxic)
that is anti-biotic/hormone free. Found in most grocery stores or natural or organic
food markets.
Iodized refined table salt found all over in grocery stores is toxic! That is a bad
salt and the one that can cause heart attacks. A very good salt to use is Celtic Grey
Sea Salt. You can buy course or fine, the fine is twice as much. Usually found at a
natural food market. We buy coarse in bulk and use a mortar/pestal to crush it for
our use. A second option that is found more easily at most health food stores or
natural sections in grocery stores is “Redmond Real Salt”.
Try to stay away from deodorants that have Propylene Glycol, any chemicals or
aluminum in them. Here’s some that are good: Weleda Sage Spray Deodorant and
Aubrey Organics Men’s Stock, as well as the Thai Crystal deodorant stone.
Please watch your toothpastes, FLOURIDE is added to a lot of them, it is a rat
poison, please stay away from it! Also, many toothpastes have propylene glycol
and sodium laurel sulfate or laurel sulfate in them and forms of sugar! We use
Perio-brite toothpaste or Weleda Salt Toothpaste. Again, try to read the labels, you
might find something good in other natural brands.

Good choice for ionic minerals – The best source of ionic minerals one can get is
through organically grown plants, depending on how well the soil is naturally

Water – Stay away from city water, as it is usually treated with chlorine or other
chemicals and fluoride is sometimes added. If you cannot get away from city
water, check into a whole house filter system for drinking/showering (when you
shower, any chemicals in the water go right into your body through your pores)
Well water from a tested well is best. Bottled water in plastic bottles, will leach
xeno-estrogens from the plastic as well as a possibility of chemicals leaching into
the water from the plastics. If you want bottled water, choose spring water,
preferably in a glass container, as some companies just use filtered city water and
one company even puts fluoride in a baby’s drinking water.
An excellent water ionizer for your household drinking water is Tyent, they sell

Closing note: Try to stay away from processed foods as much as possible, please
read your labels and if you see something on the label and you don’t know what it
is, don’t use it internally or externally.
