Food reactions fall into two classifications these include: food allergies –The body’s reaction to a protein that triggers an immune response food intolerance – A body’s reaction to a food that may cause distress, but not an immune response. Lactose intolerance and gluten intolerance fall into this category. 4.02R Foods I Most Wanted 2 Food Allergies The FDA now requires that the most common food allergens be identified on food labels.
