CHANTEL GARCIA, OD
Michael Mittelman, OD, MPH, president, Salus University
Dr. Bennett is a professor at Salus University Pennsylvania
College of Optometry, director of the Glaucoma Center
for Excellence at The Eye Institute and adjunct associate
professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel
University School of Medicine. He serves as a referee for the
American Journal of Optometry and Physiological Optics
and a reviewer for Optometry and Vision Science. He is a
principal investigator of the Ocular Hypertensive Treatment
Study (OHTS), a multi-center clinical glaucoma trial funded
by the National Eye Institute, currently in Phase 3.
Dr. Garcia is a graduate of NOVA Southeastern College of
Optometry. She completed a residency in cornea and contact
lens at The Eye Institute of Salus University. Dr. Garcia specializes
in comprehensive eye care and pre- and postoperative care
for refractive and cataract surgery patients. She is an expert
in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with various
corneal conditions. An adjunct instructor at Salus University
Pennsylvania College of Optometry, she lectures and provides
clinical instruction on advanced applications of contact lenses
for regular and irregular cornea patients.
Sarah Appel, OD, FAAO, associate professor, Salus University
Pennsylvania College of Optometry; director, Pediatric Low
Vision Service and LV Residency program coordinator, William
Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at The Eye Institute
BERNARD BLAUSTEIN, OD, FAAO
ERIN JENEWEIN, OD, MS, FAAO
Dr. Blaustein is an associate professor in the clinical sciences
department and former director of residency programs at
Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He has
worked in private practice and served as chief of optometry
services at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in
Coatesville, PA. He has published articles and textbook
chapters on anterior segment disease.
Dr. Jenewein is an assistant professor at Salus University
Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she provides clinical
instruction and lectures on pediatric eye and vision care. She
completed a residency in pediatrics and binocular vision at Nova
Southeastern University. She is an active member of the Pediatric
Eye Disease Investigator Group. Her research interests include
strabismus and binocular vision disorders.
RICHARD BRILLIANT, OD, FAAO
TRACY OFFERDAHL, PHARMD
A professor at Salus University Pennsylvania College of
Optometry, Dr. Brilliant is a senior low vision practitioner
who lectures on low vision rehabilitation. He is a member
of the Low Vision Executive Council of the Diplomate
Program of the American Academy of Optometry. He has
served as principal investigator and clinical evaluator in
many NEI research grants involving low vision lens systems.
Dr. Offerdahl is a graduate of Temple University School of
Pharmacy and an assistant professor at Salus University. She
completed a residency in pharmacy practice at Temple University
Hospital, where she spent much of her training in the area of
infectious diseases. She has held faculty positions at University
of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Offerdahl has a clinical practice outside
of Philadelphia and is currently doing additional training in
integrative medicine studies, including homeopathy and herbals.
GREGORY A. CALDWELL, OD, FAAO
A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr.
Caldwell completed a one-year residency in primary care
and ocular disease at The Eye Institute of Salus University.
Dr. Caldwell has lectured extensively in the USA and abroad
on anterior and posterior segment ocular disease. He is a
diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He served
as president of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association in
2010 and was elected to the American Optometric
Association Board of Trustees in 2013.
