The Otology, Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base Program
at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center offers
comprehensive medical and surgical services for complex ear
disorders, including ear drum perforations, cholesteatoma
and otosclerosis, vertigo, tinnitus, facial nerve problems and
lateral skull base tumors. Our highly skilled team provides
patients with cutting-edge therapies and treatments,
including cochlear implants and bone-anchored hearing aids.

Meet the Otology, Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base Program Director
Sancak Yuksel, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth)
Medical School
Dr. Yuksel, a former instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of
Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and
Neck Surgery, has worked on numerous NIH-funded projects focused on the
pathophysiology of the middle ear. His experience includes advanced fellowship
training in the surgical and medical treatment of complex ear and skull base
diseases.
Medical School: Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey
Residency: Istanbul University Cerrahpasa School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey
Fellowship: Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (pediatric ENT)
Istanbul University Cerrahpasa School of Medicine (head & neck surgery, otology/neuro-otology and skull
base surgery)
Specialty Interests: Medical and surgical treatment of all spectrum of ear diseases; management of all kinds of
hearing losses with tympanic membrane repair, ossicular chain reconstruction, bone anchored hearing aids
or cochlear implants in children and adults; management of complex and advanced ear problems including
cholesteatoma and ear canal atresia; otosclerosis and stapes surgery, dizziness and vertigo; middle ear and skull
base tumors; temporal bone fractures and CSF leaks.
