The Roman Times All the News Romans Need to Know 3/14/30 BC Rome What’s going on with CLEOPATRA? By Jessica Lee Hey! Yeah you! Did you hear about Cleopatra-the Queen of Egypt? If you haven’t, continue reading this! So a couple years ago, Cleopatra was all over the news because she had married her 12 year old brother, Ptolemy XIII, to keep the family power in their hands. Ew right? But as she was married to him, she fell in love with a different man whose name is Caesar. His name should sound familiar to you because he was our emperor! Our leader fell in love with an enemy! Can you believe it? During their relationship, they had a child together and named him Caesarian. But soon Source: Lifelines in world after, Cleopatra met a man named Antony. They had history, Mounir A.Farah two kids together and named them Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene II. Antony is a man who used to be friends with Caesar. After our leader, Caesar was assassinated; Antony and Octavian (Caesars nephew, and adopted son) killed more than 100 senators, and 2000 businessmen who had plotted against Caesar. After, they divided the empire up into three parts, along with another ally. But, they ended up turning against each other. A little after Antony and Cleo’s relationship started to fall, they ended things between each other. Antony broke it off and ended up marrying Octavia. Octavia is Octavian’s sister, which made the relationship between Antony and Octavian even worse. Octavia and Antony were not the best couple and things This is what Cleopatra is did not work out between them. So, he ended up said to look like returning back to Cleopatra. After they got back together, they returned back to Egypt to rule it as a family. Octavian accused them of planning to rule Rome together and declared war on them. When Octavian’s armies landed in Alexandria and closed in on the pair, Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide together. Cleopatra had a crazy, and conflicted life.
