Ethiopia is facing its worst drought in decades with more than 5 million people in need of emergency water, sanitation and hygiene. Experts are predicting northern Ethiopia will experience the worst drought in generations, one that will surpass the 1984 famine that killed one million men, women and children. The drought affects school attendance, with more children on the verge of dropping out - jeopardizing their future livelihood. The United Nations estimates that as many as 15 million Ethiopians could suffer acute malnutrition or worse unless more help is found. 1 : 1500 One water-well serves 150 to 200 households or 800 and 1500 people Your gift will provide lifesaving, clean water to thousands. Your gifts will provide care for patients presenting with critical levels of dehydration, significant wounds, infections and cancer.
