Financial Counselor/Insurance Verifier Hospice Maui is looking for an experienced applicant to join our team as a part-time Financial Counselor/Insurance Verifier to perform all financial counseling functions, verify eligibility, review third party insurance profiles, process financial assistance applications and secure benefits for services to be rendered. For 30 years Hospice Maui, a private, non-profit organization, has provided the Maui Community with quality and compassionate care for patients and their families. The Financial Counselor/Insurance Verifier works cooperatively with the clinical, social work and accounting departments to ensure compliance with all insurance regulations including Medicare and Medicaid, interviews all self-pay patients for insurance, medical assistance, and/or hospice charity, is able to negotiate point of service payments (copayments, deductibles, out-of-pocket), is detail oriented and has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with efficiency, and helps with other duties as assigned. The successful applicant will have knowledge of or the ability to learn Medicare/Medicaid Hospice regulations regarding billing and authorization requirements. Preference is given to individuals with medical office experience. Hospice Maui offers competitive pay and benefits, and a 403(b) plan.
