A Year in Review As we all prepare for the holidays and the close of another year, HospiScript would like to take a moment and thank each of you for all of the wonderful things you and your organization does each day taking care of patients. It is such a pleasure to partner and work alongside organizations such as yours. Since our inception in 1995, we have valued and nurtured the pharmacy relationships that are essential to your services. HospiScript has built itself on a solid foundation and has a proven track record and longevity in the hospice market. HospiScript, along with our parent company, Catamaran have and will continue to support and guide our partners with navigating industry changes and providing best in class service. This has been an extremely difficult year for the hospice industry. We’ve seen the likes of CR8358 and Medicare Part D changes that have shaken even the most prepared hospice organizations. HospiScript took a very vocal stand on a national level to advocate for hospice and obtain information regarding these changes for our partners. HospiScript expects continued change on these two topics into 2015 based on recent conversations with CMS and NHPCO. We will continue to enhance our offerings to bring solutions that are care focused to our partners. Despite all the changes, we did accomplish some major milestones this year and would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the innovative services and products. Based on feedback, HospiMobile™ got a big facelift in 2014. HospiScript partners have told us how important easy to use, care focused tools are to their day to day lives. HospiMobile™ is a mobile interface compatible with most smart phones and tablets. At a quick glance, HospiMobile™ offers hospice clinicians the same great access to HospiDirect™, without the need for a computer or Wi‐Fi. Enrolling or discharging patients, adding or discontinuing medications, and quick access to HospiScript’s clinical review are just some of the features you have come to enjoy. In addition, HospiMobile™ provides access to items like educational seminar registration and the pharmacy locator, which now includes GPS and Google Maps. HospiMobile 2.0 is a powerful tool that will save you time. In head to head comparisons, adding medications and enrolling or discharging patients online was 50% ‐ 75% faster for the average hospice staff member compared to using traditional methods such as calling or faxing! HospiMobile™ 2.0 DrFirst e-Prescribing Solution Hydrocodone containing products have officially migrated to CII and prescribing these medications urgently just got more difficult. This, among other reasons, is why HospiScript has teamed up with DrFirst to offer their state‐of‐the‐art e‐prescribing solution to our clients. DrFirst and HospiDirect™ allow nurses to notify physicians of prescription needs while allowing physicians the convenience of prescribing from anywhere! No more emergency fills. No more locating a fax machine in the middle of the night. The efficiency of electronic medication orders streamlines the processes saving time and money. If you live in the state of New York, you should know about I‐STOP by now. I‐STOP says you must prescribe all medications electronically by March 2015. The hospice industry has experienced significant regulatory changes over the year. From additional reporting requirements (CR8358) involving hospice claims to changes in the philosophy of medication coverage and payer determinations, HospiScript has been there to support our partners in navigating these changes. Be on the look‐out of more information in 2015 regarding more details as HospiScript expects additional guidance as early as March 2015 regarding Medicare Part D and hospice.
