Also performing at local restaurant venues, and art and music festivals to raise money to help support our travels to Haiti to perform for orphans and street children, as well as offering musical clinics to establish a sense of hope and music education in various areas in the country. VOLUNTEER, SOUND for Haiti, New Haven, CT 06515. September 2013-present Provided music clinics in Central Plateau and Port au Prince, Haiti from June 22-July 7, 2013. Taught students to read and sing music in both English and Haitian Creole. Put on a concert in the center of the Central Plateau and Quisqueya Chapel in Port au Prince, both after 6 days each week of teaching and rehearsing with the students. This is an ongoing program. VOLUNTEER, Emmaus Partnership, Bridgeport, CT 06608. July 15, 2013-July 19, 2013 Volunteered on the Off the Bench team to provide a weeklong sports camp, with a Christian foundation for the underprivileged and suffering children in the East Side neighborhood. This program is part of continued outreach to this neighborhood, and will hopefully spread through out the city of Bridgeport, CT, and eventually through New Haven, CT as well. VOLUNTEER, Assistant Stage Manager: Shake-It-Up Shakespeare, Long Wharf Theatre, New Haven, CT 06515. July 22-August 25, 2013 Volunteered as the Assistant Stage Manager for Long Wharf Theatre’s summer teen theatre program called “Shake-It-Up Shakespeare”. The work chosen this summer was Romeo & Juliet, with a unique, 1920’s/contemporary adaptation written by Annie DiMartino, the director of education at Long Wharf Theatre. Provided support and volunteer work back stage working with actors, props, costumes, and moving set pieces during the performances.
