SUBTRACT.
Subtraction is the opposite of addition.
Example : Out of 48 photos , 17 are coloured . How many are black
and white?

Here number of black and white photos that is number of group 2 items is
not known but the total is given, So it is a subtraction situation
Situation 2
•Something goes away , given or is taken away. This is the
classic subtraction situation.
Example 1:
Radha has Rs. 300 and she bought a doll for Rs180. How
much money is left with her?
Situation 3
How many more" situations (= difference) are solved by
subtraction. Note that once again, nothing is "taken away" or
going away.
Example 2
Krishna has 24 cows and Balrama has 13 cows. How many
more cows does Krishna have?.
