• Bourgeoisie- middle class Bankers,
merchants, skilled artisans. They are
wealthy and educated yet, still had to pay
taxes!
• City Workers- laborers, servants
• Peasants- poor farmers. They pay taxes to
the nobles, king and the Church.

government of most European nations,
they could not stop the ideas that emerged
during the Fr. Rev.

in 1830 and 1848 (we will study this in the
next unit)
